Publisher's summary

Welcome to Camp Legend, where every kid is a true believer in legendary figures like Santa Claus, Cupid, the Easter Bunny, and even Bigfoot - well, almost everyone. Twelve-year-old Taj Tennyson didn’t ask to go to Camp Legend but here he is, the only nonbeliever in the whole camp. So how did a kid who made it his life’s mission to debunk magic even get invited to a camp where kids spend their entire summer learning to become legendary figures? By accident, really - well, maybe not exactly by accident.

When Taj sets a trap to catch his parents pretending to be the Tooth Fairy, the real Tooth Fairy gets fried by the wire he’d connected to a couple nine-volt batteries instead. Before he knew it, he’d incapacitated her and unintentionally helped a group of bad guys, named the Red Claw, kidnap her. Because Taj sees the kidnapping, he finds himself under the watchful care of Father Time as part of the Legendary Witness Protection Program. Instead of spending his summer vacation building robots and taking it easy, he’s pretending to fit in with kids who practically worship the holiday seasons. Awkward!

His only hope for returning to normal life is to find a way to fit in, or discover who kidnapped the Tooth Fairy and bring them to justice. Only, on his quest for freedom, he unearths a deadly plot that threatens not just the legendary figures, but quite possibly the entire world - and it’s all his fault.

Had a hard time putting it down

I loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down. I often thought it was a book that Harry Potter lovers would like, but less dark, which is perfect for my kids.

I enjoyed how all the magical creatures, like the Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, Snow White, Easter Chicken (ha! - fantastic twist), and other characters were part of the book, and I often found myself shushing my kids so I could listen to the narrator better.

I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends. It's got great tension, but I think even the younger audience could handle a book like this one.

What A Great Story!

To be honest, at first I was prepared to just 'get through' this book but did I get a big surprise! I enjoyed this book so much that I listened to it almost all the way through from start to finish without turning it off! I didn't want to stop listening because it was so good. The narrator, Shea Taylor, did an awesome job! I will be recommending this book to my grandson & my friends who not only have kids or grandkids, but those who also listen to audio books.

This book was a pleasure to listen to and I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.

New and Unexpected

This story was not what I expected going in. I was pleasantly surprised, though. Mikey takes tropes and revisits them in a ways that'll make you smile and think. I will say that there is there dad-iest of dad characters I've read/listened to yet.

Speaking of listening: the narrator gives a top-notch performance. Different characters have distinct voices *and* characteristics. Very good range from a single actor.

Give it a shot. I'm glad I did.

Captivating!!

Our family listened to this book while we were traveling and loved it the whole time!! We had to stop listening because we were at our destination, but our kids didn't want to get out - they wanted to finish the book first!!
Great story - we loved the characters and the story line. My daughter said this is one of the books she wished didn't have to end. Great job! Highly recommended!

An easy 5 solid gold 🌟 🌟 ⭐ 🌟 ⭐ stars

I was tickled to listen to this book. It was such a refreshing change of pace for me. This little story made me smile. I often found myself trying to out guess the author and figure out what was going to happen next. I loved that this book was set for children. It is a clean, wholesome book that any parent will be happy to have their children listen to. Personally I could see a family enjoying this in a long car ride or trip. I have told my adult children about this book and have encouraged them to get this for my grandchildren. I was lucky enough to receive this book for free in exchange for an honest review. And I honestly have no qualms about recommending this book to anyone child or adult I'm sure they will all smile. Remember I am a 49 year old grandmother and I loved this story. So go ahead grandma told you its ok to buy. LOL

Really Enjoyed It

What a great story. I loved how the story concept had a lot that was familiar, yet there were fresh twists on these legendary characters that made it really fun and unique. The characters were well crafted and interesting, and the world building was really cool. Mikey did a fantastic job. I also think the narrator is talented and did a great job using various voices and accents to differentiate who was speaking, which made it very easy to follow the story. There were also some great messages throughout. I really enjoyed the book and look forward any sequels that may be released. I'm definitely going to recommend it to my kids.

More need to read this book! It's magically entertaining. It's the magic of Harry Potter mixed with the legends of old all rolled up into a wonder of adventure and sent to a summer camp. A perfect book for the whole family!
