T. Lobsang Rampa
About this listen
Most of the letters T. Lobsang Rampa receives are full of questions about all aspects of metaphysics - pendulums, dowsing, how to levitate, teleport, and "remote view", etc.
In Candlelight, Dr. Rampa answers all of these questions and more, replying to queries about God, good versus evil, acupuncture, the media, and how to manage one's everyday affairs.
This is Dr. Rampa's 14th book. Like its predecessors, Candlight brings "illumination to some, hope to others" - in particular, to his many students and followers all over the world.

In fact, Barker provides a letter from a Tibetan Buddhist scholar stating that Rampa's writings about the inner workings of Tibetan Buddhism were quite accurate and actually revealed closely guarded secrets of the Himalayan monasteries.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
Just before Christmas in 1843, a debt-ridden and dispirited Charles Dickens wrote a small book he hoped would keep his creditors at bay. His publisher turned it down, so Dickens used what little money he had to put out A Christmas Carol himself. He worried it might be the end of his career as a novelist. The book immediately caused a sensation. And it breathed new life into a holiday that had fallen into disfavor, undermined by lingering Puritanism and the cold modernity of the Industrial Revolution.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

I’ve been reading his books since I was in my 20s. I appreciated him answering some of the questions which a few were good ones to ask. I enjoyed the narrator’s voice as well. I look forward to hearing the other books on here.
