After breaking up with his girlfriend, Lucas is eager to get away from reminders of their relationship so he answers an ad to join a pirate show in the Caribbean. I started this book with low expectations and got hooked so fast! Nick J. Russo is perfect! I enjoyed the tones he used for the characters and how much emotion he put into Lucas’ voice. I can’t wait for the next book. The characters were fleshed out really well and I found myself laughing a lot. I would recommend giving this book a chance to anyone wanting a laid back book of fun. It is full of steamy moments that just works for the plot. You will not be disappointed.

I have listened to this probably ten times, it's just a nice listen full of tension and Nick J Russo does a great job bringing the characters to life. I wish they were finishing the audiobooks of this series though, I'd love to keep listening.

Lucas's interactions among the variety of characters throughout this vacation island background was highly enjoyable. With the exception of Tyler (total angsty hateful bore), I was happily surprised and entertained with all the different personalities and conversations that go on. The captain's magnetism is palpable and the various forms of sexual heat and tension could fill a buffet. I'm definitely intrigued to read the next book!

I have read all of the books in this series and was so excited to be able to listen to it. This is one of my favorite series!! Nick did an amazing job with the voices, and it was hot, hot, hot!! I wish the rest of the books were offered in narration too.

Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: yes

• Needed to suspend belief in reality, but once I got past that I enjoyed Lucas' journey, as he comes to terms with his own prejudices, feelings and self discovery.
• Interesting characters, good pace and enough that I will look for the next in the series.
• Nick J. Russo does a fantastic job at bringing the characters to life and adds to the audio experience.
