I’ve always loved when the female dresses as a boy to hide her female gender. And Veronica does that so she can survive the pirate’s that invaded the ship that’s she sailing in. I love Veronica character, she’s a spitfire with a kind heart. I was shocked when I found out who the pirate king is and I also got excited because the chemistry between both of them was exquisite. I absolutely recommend this story. Lulu Russell did an amazing job narrating this story.

I’m a huge fan of Rebecca F. Kenney, and I’m so glad I discovered her work at a book convention last year! Since then, I’ve been making my way through all of her books on audio and loving every minute. One of the things I admire most about her writing is her heroines. You won’t find any damsels in distress here. Her female leads may not always have the perfect plan, but they never wait around for someone else to save them. They’re strong, determined, and refreshingly real. Rebecca’s writing is superb, and her character development is consistently compelling. I’m onto Book 3 of the series, and completely hooked!
⚠️ Note: Some of her stories do include potential triggers, so I highly recommend checking her website. She thoughtfully lists content warnings for each book. Also, a shoutout to Lulu Russell, who does a fantastic job with the narration!
