Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. Loved the Holden
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator was great and made the story come alive. I loved Holden and Carmen’s story and the way he treated her. He was so sweet and attentive. I was proud of Holden standing up to his mother and taking up for Carmen. Such fun that she loved horses as much as Holden did.
A little romance and little suspense made this a book that you wanted to keep listening to. I recommend this book.
I received this audiobook from the author but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are mine.

Carmen and Holden!
Janice Cole Hopkins knows how to tell a story. I loved meeting Carmen and Holden! Carmen's parents came to America from Spain. Once here, they decide to migrate west. As gypsies, they felt it easier than some to make the move and now they are putting down roots. Their daughter Carmen is now grown, and Carmen's father loves to play matchmaker. Holden is the man he thinks will make her happy, but what does he know? She doesn't want her life played with, she wants to fall in love. Holden is taken with Carmen, but upon his mother meeting her, there is some unease with his choice. But does she even know Carmen? This couple loves each other, but will the meddling mother-in-law ruin it all? The message in this book is spot on, both then and now. With a bit of suspense, Hopkins adds a twist that shows how the human instinct can turn on a dime and realize what life is truly about. I loved this book, it's real, it's inspirational, and it's love.
Mark Wisehart is perfect for this book. He has the sound of the old west, and gives a feel of that from the start. With that, the narration flows like a movie in my mind, with all the voices, some with accents, some male and some female all easy to distinguish. It is a fabulous listen.

Loved it!
I really enjoy this author. She has a way of making her stories just flow together in a way that keeps you interested. I love the element of faith she puts in her books as well as someone always helping someone out/doing good. I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say, if you're thinking about buying it, do so, you won't be disappointed.
The narrative was well done on this... the characters just came to life. Good clear speaking and good speed.

Christian Historical Romance
You're finest book yet!! I loved how, on top of a delightful story full of sweet romance and a bit of mystery, we also got a wonderful education on the horse breeds of Spain as well as a taste of the gypsy life! I thought the narrator did an excellent job with the sound effects and the Old World sound of the grandmother! I was very impressed.

Love and Interference
Listening to Carmen’s Wedding Dilemma was very enjoyable. Carmen knows that her beau Holden‘s mother doesn’t like her and prejudice about her heritage. Using this as an excuse to try to match make him to someone else. Of course, her plan backfires. Working around these issues, Holden still wants Carmen as his wife.
I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review.

Sweet Romance
Carmen and Holden have a nightmare for their future--his mother. She doesn't like Carmen at all. But sweet Holden tells her if he has to choose, he will choose her over his mother. This is a lovely romance and is a picture of true Christ-like love the Bible teaches a man is to have for his wife. It is also is an illustration of how God can work in the lives of His children. Great listen!
The narration was very well done. It can make or break a book for me and there was no question this made the book easy to listen to and the characters come to life.
