"You've just always been the powerful one. I'm the smart aleck."
"We're the same. I'm night, you're day. You have to have both to have life."
"You can hide in the shadows."
"And you can shine like the sun. This prophesy is about both of us."
Destiny doesn't think she's anything special. The daughter of an outcast witch. Her twin, Fate, is her best friend, so that's awesome. They're experts in love potions and selling them to crazy high school kids.
So they can buy more shoes.
But that all changes when their school is attacked by warlocks - warlocks who want her power for their own. The attack launches her onto the path the stars have chosen for Destiny, Fate, and their long-lost father.
Oh, and Quin.
Quin, who's the son of a witch, only tolerating Destiny's presence because she can save his mother. Except along the way, that all changes, and he realizes Destiny is everything he never knew he wanted. The only problem is she thinks if love can be made from a potion, it can't be a real thing.
If they survive this, he's going to prove her wrong.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I doubt my friends would indulge in this intended age group audience. What did you like best about this story?
It was well written and the characters were developed and evolved with the story. It was nicely paced and kept the teen angst to a minimum. It especially rocked because of the absence of love triangles! What about Lori Prince’s performance did you like?
Lori had a wonderful tone for this genre. I would definitely listen to another book she narrates. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really. Only because it was slightly more juvenile than I prefer. I did have a few eye rolls during thd interactions among the girls and their mom. Who's raising whom?Any additional comments?

One of the biggest obstacles reading a book via Audible is liking the reader's voice. This narrator was great. The story was amazing.

So now about this story. This is the first time I've read/listened to Wendy Knight. It won't be the last.
This is a great beginning for a series. It may be a young adult book. But I'm 55 and I loved it.
I can't wait for more of this series, I want to say more about this story but I absolutely hate spoilers, so I won't do it to you.

Lori Prince did a good job narrating Cauldron Bubble. She handled *most* of the voices really well and brought life to the character and the story. She didn't narrate the older male voices in the story quite as well as the rest of the characters in the book. Destiny and Fate's father and the elder twins sounded weird and unnatural, for example. They sounded like they were about to croak. Plus, their father, from what I gathered, would have been quite a bit younger than the elder twins, so why do they both sound so dang old?! Overall though, it didn't take away from the listening experience. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Great witch/warlock paranormal YA novel!

The girls start at a new school and Destiny rubs Quin, a popular football player, the wrong way. Quin just happens to be the son of a warrior witch. One day, warlocks attack their school, and Destiny joins with Quin to fight them. Both of their mothers are injured as a result of the battle. Quin, Destiny, Fate, and Fate's boyfriend Damien need to find a way to save them, and to fight off the warlocks determined to take their magic.
I think this book just made me fall in love with the paranormal fantasy genre! There's a lot going on in this book, a war between the witches and warlocks, fight to save their mothers, reconnecting with old family, learning about the witches' history, and the new romance. Despite all of this, it was written with a good natural flow and pacing, with no large info dumps. I was intrigued from the beginning and couldn't stop listening to it. The world the author created is fascinating, and I really wanted to learn more about it.
Any book that had me laughing out loud in the first paragraph is a winner. Fate and Destiny were awesomely snarky. They had this great banter between them that anyone with a sister would recognize. They're just incredibly likable, and the bond they shared with their mother was really special.
The narrator did a great job, she was easy to listen to. She did perform a different voice for male or female characters, and also gave Fate and Destiny distinct speaking voices. I thought it fit their personalities well. There weren't any jarring notes, and she narrated smoothly and never pulled me out of the story. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
