If this was the first book, I would NOT have started

First off, I have to begin with the narrator of the third book, I’m sorry Robert, this may be your profession and I feel badly saying this but good Lord your voice has absolutely zero emotion or inflection. If he had narrated the first book, I definitely would have returned it. The only reason I could attempted to listen was because it was the third book in.

I also feel badly because I am not a quitter but the combination of his voice and the poor storyline made me quit the book with only a half an hour left. The first two books were fairly enjoyable, I was able to follow along while doing busy work. The third book was unbelievable and the plot went flat. In some ways I wish I did not waste my time.

Part 3 of 3 book unified story

Part 3 of a 3 part story.

The lives of a Scottish lass who has met and bedded a Danish Viking prince become more complicated and then resolve. A few language and historic issues disrupted my "suspension of disbelief" but a very enjoyable story

Not as good as first two books.

4 July 2020: Unfortunately, like the other reviewers mentioned, this narrator was not very good. He has a nice voice, however not for narration. I had to listen at 1.8x speed so I could get through it. I am glad it is with the audible escape subscription. Overall, I did enjoy the series.

Amazing Viking Trilogy!!

Celtic Mann by Lexy Timms is the final conclusion in the Heart Of The Battle Trilogy.
Lots of ups and downs, this really was just a great series that I thoroughly enjoyed!! My only complaint is that it was too short!

Warning: Spoilers below...

I liked the narrator's accent and found him easy to understand. Unfortunately, his voice did not have much expression or inflection. He could have been reading a recipe.

As far as the story, I felt there were too many incongruencies to make sense. I find it hard to believe that the Prince really loved her if he left her probably pregnant in a war torn country.. I didn't buy the reasons for leaving her behind presented in the story. If his mother wouldn't accept a farmer's daughter, well, he was going to be king, cut the apron strings. I could have seen going back with his love to reassure and comfort his mother that he was still alive. When he finally does decide to go back, an uncle takes over. Why couldn't that uncle have taken the seat to begin with so he could have returned for his love. Also, the Prince claimed he didn't want to put her in danger when he left her pregnant in a war torn country because he might not make it or she might be in further danger. It seems to me she would have been safer with his protection. And when she marries so her child would have a father, she never noticed the man hated her? Last but not least, when the Prince returns, she forgives him in about 30 minutes with the first kiss. This last installment insulted my intelligence and just irritated me for so many reasons.

A lot of reviewers complained about the cliffhangers. That really didn't bother me as long as I didn't have to wait. With the Romance Pkg, it was an easy matter to just download the short stories of the 3 part series. I thought Book 1 was pretty good and looked promising. By Book 2, I was having doubts. I've given my opinion of Book 3. Would I spend a credit on any of it? Unfortunately, no and I won't be continuing with this author. I like a tale that makes sense.
