I would like to have the entire book of Centennial. That is what I paid for . It stops during the Skimmerhorn Trail.

Exquisite balance of detail and scale. Both epic and intimate, with touching characters and enthralling circumstances. Absolutely superb.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I ask why the people of thid needs yo kill everything that is wonderful for our future. We seem to feel it is OK to kill everything what is out there. Indianan, animals, etc, why??

Would you ever listen to anything by James A. Michener again?

Yes I have read a lot of JM. stuff his format is the same throughout.

Could you see Centennial being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I watched the movie and in some instances the actors were great except the person that pleaded the Frenchmen .

The end of a great wonderful animal

If you understand Michener as a "historian" you'll understand the choice of narrator...and further understand the unfairness of criticism, calling it robotic, and spoiling. If you want "drama" and "acting" and "animated voices" look elsewhere...because you'll undoubtedly miss the intense beauty of Michener's prose. Can't remember the last time an audiobook caused me to cry...but this one did. Quite literally, sobbed. It was just over one vignette of thousands in this story, which spans from the dinosaurs to near modern day. As all Michener lovers know...Michener is a learning experience that an excited, dramatic narration would only detract and distract from.

This is one of the best books I have listed too in a very long time.

Love the history

First: the narrator. He is perfect for this type of documentary style book. Listening to this book is very much like watching any good documentary.
An epic look at Colorado’s history around the South Platte river: the land formation, flora, fauna, dinosaurs, native animal species, including primordial human habitation through eras up to USA’s bicentennial celebration in 1976 . I love documentaries and this book did not disappoint. It took me quite a while to listen to 50+ hours.
