Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Nicole Edwards comes the tenth installment in her Brantley Walker: Off the Books series.

During the two years since they created the Off the Books Task Force, Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis have had their share of difficult cases, but their next one hits close to home. Too close.

After Jessica James is taken in broad daylight in the center of town, the Off the Books Task Force joins forces with family and friends in Coyote Ridge to find her. When JJ turns up safe and sound, they realize finding her was only half the battle. A series of chain reactions have the task force working to clear one of their own while searching for the person responsible for JJ’s disappearance.

Some relationships are tested, while others grow stronger as the team works to stop the dominoes from falling.

A Good Reaction

This was book 10 in the "Brantley Walker: Off the Books" series. This book picked up where book 9 left JJ has been kidnapped by two psychos one of them being Molly Ryan who pretended to be pregnant by him even though he didn't sleep she was crazy she wanted to cut JJ's baby out and her psycho friend was willing to do anything for her. Baz will do anything to get her back. JJ reminded calm and cool and got Molly to release her. This was a good read. I really hope that Ms. Edwards writes about Slade, Carson and Atticus because I know these three are going to be hot. I did feel that something was missing in this book. I did think it was funny when Molly called Baz like he would want her after she kidnapped his girlfriend. I love reading this series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading to reading the next book in this series.

Please New Narrator!

Love this series of Nicole's, but please could we have a new narrator!! Thor Tom has a lovely deep voice but he makes every guy sound like their talking with gravel in their throats.

Sooooo Good!!! This is amazing!

This is a series I never tire of. The ensemble cast is like watching an episode of Friends with a lot more spice and a bit of suspense. From the first chapter of Chain Reaction, I could not put it down. The kidnapping of JJ is front and center and it's a tough case for Brantley and Baz. Emotionally involved makes it that much harder, but everyone is on the case and are determined to find her.JJ is one strong woman. With all she has been through, she certainly didn't need this added to her history and the culprit is crazy. Did I say crazy? INSANE!!! Plus we have wedding planning going on, a newly forming romance for Slade and babies! I loved this book. It pushes all the buttons, with thrilling suspense, unsuspecting circumstances, spicy scenes, troubled hearts and love!! I cannot get enough! Make sure to start this series from the beginning. You will love it!

Tor Thom and Fiona Clare continue their narration of the series and they are phenomenal. Thom keeps his voices for all the characters, making my ears happy to know who is speaking. His choices of voice is particular and fits every one of the many men in this series. I love his accents! Clare shows off her talent with the stubbornness of JJ and the many voices of her kidnapper. I loved how she got into their heads and found their true emotions. This is a fantastic listen and will be enjoyed after you go grab it!

Gripping

After the ending of the previous book, I could not wait to dive into Chain Reaction. One of their own (Jessica James aka JJ) is missing and Brantley and the team are frantic to find her.

All hands from the Off The Books Task Force and Coyote Ridge are focussed on finding the missing woman. Finding JJ safe is only the start for the team. They need to track down those who took her and seek explanations.

There is a lot going on in Chain Reaction so be prepared. It is a fast paced, emotional story that will draw you in and hold you captive. Each time I read a book in this series I think I have found my favourite. Yet again Nicole Edwards has delivered an entertaining, well written character driven story that will reel you in.

This story will keep you on the edge of your seat whilst reading. The narration by Thor Thom and Fiona Claire was spot on. Their voices are easy to listen to and diverse.
