Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author.

Cirque du Lune is killing off teenagers, but it's all part of the act.

Or is it?

As the body count rises with each performance, one girl at this renowned theater-based summer camp finds herself contemplating what's real and what's not.

What if it's not just a horror show, but a live snuff performance perpetrated by real-life, infamous serial killers? What if the murders... are real?

Really good

Where does Circus of Lost Souls rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book was very suspenseful. I love reading about serial killers, and this author really did his research to make the book realistic. The plot was unusual with a paranormal element that worked well. The twist in the middle came as a complete surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this book

What other book might you compare Circus of Lost Souls to and why?

Well paced with interesting characters and excellent narration. Very professionally done compared to some audio books I've listened to lately.

What does Gillian Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice was nuanced and nice to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!

Any additional comments?

One of the best books I've listened to in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed it...even though it kept me up at night.

Amazing suspenseful voyage with many plot twists

If you could sum up Circus of Lost Souls in three words, what would they be?

Suspenseful Unexpected Voyage

What did you like best about this story?

The story was engaging, unpredictable and kept you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Which scene was your favorite?

As horror/suspense books go, not one scene over another is meant to be a "favorite". Having said that, my favorite part about the book was the way it engaged you in the story at the beginning and you never felt any of the twists had a predictable outcome. Every plot curve is undeniably unexpected and the ending even more unexpected. Well worth the journey.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Extreme reactions to the book couldn't put it down, sometimes because of suspense, sometimes because of the horror aspect. It definitely had me completely engaged. At times i smiled, at times i was horrified, then terrified and at other times i felt the emotion of a character as though they were real. Well written.

Any additional comments?

It takes a special kind of writer to successfully write across genres. Riley J Ford is one of those writers that i believe could write anything.

Suspenseful, unique, fascinating, interesting!

Where does Circus of Lost Souls rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best mystery-thriller books I've ever read. It's hard to describe this book because it's an interesting blend of suspense, mystery, thriller, paranormal elements, and real-life serial killers as characters. There's some spine-tingling horror, but it never becomes overly gory or gratuitous. Overall, it's a book that keeps you guessing about the mystery behind the circus, and why these teens start to behave differently after their shows. I became engrossed in the intrigue of this book and was unable to stop listening until it was finished, that's how good it was. It was very suspenseful! Luckily, I was on a long road trip and was able to fully indulge myself in this book. If you like intriguing story lines with well-developed characters, a good dose of humor, lots of suspense and plenty to keep you guessing, then this is the book for you. I know you'll enjoy it. I sure did!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Circus of Lost Souls?

The "reveal" scene where we find out the mystery of the Circus. SO GOOD!

Have you listened to any of Gillian Vance’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator did an excellent job of making the story suspenseful and intriguing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I became fascinated with the serial killers depicted in the book. I looked a lot of them up and found that the author really did her homework. Very interesting angle.

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the sequel!

Spoiler..

The books ending does not solve anything basically leaves It Wide Open for book two, normally this would be a good thing but this story is so lame and pointless one can only hope a sequel is not written
