Publisher's summary

Repairman Jack, F. Paul Wilson’s vigilante hero first seen in the New York Times best seller The Tomb, returns in a thriller that thrusts Jack back into the weird, supernatural world that he thrives in. Looking for clues to the mysterious disappearance of leading conspiracy theorist Melanie Ehler, Jack attends a convention of bizarre and avid conspiracy theorists. It’s a place where aliens are real, the government is out to get you, and the world is hurtling toward an inevitable war of good versus evil incarnate.

Jack finds that nobody can be trusted - and that few people are what they seem. Worse yet, Jack’s been having vivid dreams that make him wonder whether he’s headed for a clash with his own past - maybe The Tomb’s evil rakoshi beasts aren’t through with him quite yet.

Rmj is the best

Just jack. He will warm your hart and tear out the ones that come close to hurting his and the ones he loves. The best combination of supernatural and thriller and kick ass off the grid fixit guy. Not the appliance type of repairs. If you have a problem and no one else can help you. Call repairman jack.
If you are a fan of the nowhere man you will love jack. He is the original fix it guy. Good in his core bad to all that get on his way.

Another fun one

Engaging fun adventure. Christopher Price is great as he reads a story that is fun and kind of random.

Not my favorite so far.

If this was story one I would not pick this back up. Being as the first two stories were great I will give four a chance. Still worth a listen but a bit turned off with the level of sci-fi.

Supernatural + Noire Mystery

It’s just the right amount of seedy whodunnit with supernatural undercurrents. Jack is a likable guy with a special skill set and decent moral code. Going straight to the next book!

Kooks, freaks, geeks, and Oh yeah....Jack

Would you listen to Conspiracies again? Why?

Yes. I love sensible Jack having to go undercover as an alien abduction "experiencer" to solve his case. The truth is so much stranger than anyone realizes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Conspiracies?

When the Christian woman makes him hold a cross in his hand to prove that he is not in league with the Devil and it takes every ounce of self-control that Jack has to not roll around on the floor and pretend to be in extreme pain. I love his boyish sense of humor.

What about Christopher Price’s performance did you like?

When the narrator does good, I get so caught up in the story that I don't even think about their performance.

Any additional comments?

Great series. Start with "The Tomb" and keep going. Thank you Audible for bringing all the Repairman Jack series to us loyal members.

Little bump in the road...I hope

What did you like best about Conspiracies? What did you like least?

I was a bit disappointed with this entry into the Repairman Jack series. Although it was certainly entertaining enough to finish and had lots of quirky characters that was also the problem. Too many characters and not enough development. It even ended with a bit of a thunk. One way I measure my satisfaction with a book is "how did I feel about the characters", love them or hate them. Frankly I didnt feel much toward any of them in this book. A Tesla creation was at the center of story but thinly explored and ultimately I didnt mind the story being over.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator is ok, at times it does seem he's just reading the book rather than becoming the characters as the great readers do (I started this series out of order so Dick Hill was the first reader I listened to, and he is among my favorites).

Any additional comments?

I think you could skip this volume and read later ones without missing much.

Such a cool combo of genres!

I love repairman jack and the books keep getting better and better as the story goes on. It feels like a noir written by lovecraft
