Excellent transition to audiobook!

The first audiobook I’ve ever truly enjoyed. You see, I like the way my mind takes the printed letters off a page, lines them up into words that then create a visual experience. Audible books don’t do that for me, and it’s difficult for me to focus on listening. I found this audiobook different.

The author’s annotations bring a depth to the prose that I didn’t know was missing. The soothing cadence of the narration, the injection of music between sections, and the baritone voice with slight West Texas accent all act as embellishments to the words that I found so profound in the book.

I loved Correspondence in D Minor in print. I love listening to it as an audiobook.

A poem should be heard

This is a wonderful collection of poems, including many written to historical or other characters, skillfully using a variety of poetic forms. These poems look at the human condition through drama, nostalgia, joy and sorrow, and humor, with a quiet but strong basis in Christian faith. Here, with a Bach cello introduction to each section, the poet’s own rich voice brings new dimensions to this collection, personal and often intimate, but also universal as it touches each listener’s own heart, mind and spirit.
