About this listen

On the day we choose our wedding rings, my fiancé vanishes into thin air.

My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year.

Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved.

We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it.

I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Disappointing plot

The story had so much potential. Although it seemed unnecessarily long, I kept going because I imagined a cleverly delicious psychological twist at the end. But the ending was disappointing and ridiculous. Narration was great though.

Great performance by the narrator

The story was good for the most part up until the last couple chapters. Then I feel like there’s so much leading up to the end and it just dropped off with no real finish.

Dragged on too long.

The storyline was ok, but it dragged on way too long. I skipped a few chapters. It was read well

WTF? The ending is terrible.

I should have read reviews bc I see now that others dislike the ending. The whole story basically falls off a cliff. (Pun intended). It was too long and then the ending is completely unsatisfying. Start the book if you’re curious but you can skip almost all of it and not lose the plot.

The performance was very strong.

I enjoyed the story, even though it got a bit repetitive and I was able to figure out the villain,I waffled back and forth between 2 characters being at fault for a while so it kept me guessing for a while. Eve truly suffered due to decisions of people who she loved and she thought loved her.

the ending was the worst! this victimized young woman died with people thinking she was depressed or delusional. could have ended much better

Good story but ending disappointing.

The story felt fresh in the beginning and narrators were excellent. The ending/reveal was disappointing and a let down.

Interesting

Interesting listen/read… helps one understand culture and also how mean people can be to their ‘best’ friends

Took FOREVER to get to the point

In the end, good story, but why did it take so long? Definitely evokes several emotions.

Whinging frenemies

Forced myself to finish because I needed to know if my guess about the cowardly finance was correct. Don’t waste your time.
