Good Western Story

This was an interesting story with a good storyline. The characters were great as it all made you want to keep reading! David Kresser did a good job of reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

Another Rip-roaring adventure

This is an enjoyable story with decently fleshed-out characters. The plot is not completely transparent and keeps the listener guessing. I learned a few new words (example: remuda) and a few cowboy habits.

Regarding the narrator, his voice is pleasant and he does a decent job of differentiating his characters voicings. He does stumble over a few heteronymns, pronouncing words that are spelled alike so as to give the wrong meaning. Example: a rider rushing away leans forward on his horse to dodge the "pursuing lead", which he pronounces as if it were written "pursuing leed."

There appears to be some sort of space-saving procedure applied to the audio, since there are too many places where the gap between words seems to disappear.

Classic Western Mystery

I enjoy Curtis Long's classic western stories featuring Rip Campbell. In this story, Rip goes undercover to solve a mystery involving his old boss and a herd of cattle that has gone missing. I recommend this book to others who enjoy a mystery with a classic western feel to it. David Kresser's narration is great as his portrayal brings the story to life. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
