About this listen

When I turned 40, getting divorced was nowhere on my radar.
Neither was getting pregnant with a cursed bear shifter’s baby.

Have a divorce party, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.
It was, until I ended up in handcuffs.
A group of Karens rained on my parade at the winery
And in my drunken haze, I mooned every last one of them—
Along with the responding officer called in to arrest my ass.
Not a good look for a teacher starting off in a new little town.
When he cuffed me, I stumbled into his rock-hard body,
But he softened up once he brought me down to the station,
Taking pity on me and caring for me throughout the night.
The charges were dropped the next morning,
So he gave me a ride home, and I offered him breakfast.
But Landon was hungry for me and jumped right to dessert.
Fast forward to now, when I find out I’m pregnant at 40,
But the fun doesn’t end there.
Apparently, Landon’s part bear.
Oh, and his family? Yeah, they’ve been cursed for generations.
Now my unborn child could turn out to be a feral beast—
Just like Landon’s brother, who’s now on the hunt for me.

Steamy shifter love scenes and an HEA inside! No cheating or cliffhanger in this standalone romance. Listeners 18+."

Good

I enjoyed this book. Too much drinking never leads to anything good- but in this case it brought Landon into Michelle's life (after she drunkenly mooned him and others.) But a surprise pregnancy, bear shifters, not so good communication, and a family curse make this a rocky journey for them.

D.C. Cole does a good job narrating this book and bringing the characters to life. Though overall I prefer dual narration for MF romances. Since Cole and Elle Sonali take turns narrating this series, I wonder why not have them both narrate each?

Landon and Michelle

I love this series all of the books are about people in their forties. No teens or young twenties so the characters are straightforward, know what they want and discuss their feelings in an adult way.

The romance between Landon and Michelle is well done, I think it's great how shifters can recognize their true mate when they meet. I love how the witches only work for the greater good.

I enjoyed how the stories are set in this small town where everybody knows everybody else's business.

D.C. Cole does the narration of this book and he does a great job!

Michelle and Landon

I found this story to be light-hearted, humorous, and entertaining. Michelle drank a bit too much, cut up too much, but had an excellent night out. This ended up with a ride to the police station. (Sounds like a fun night!) Landon is a local cop who first encountered Michelle at the station.. The attraction is there, and sparks fly. It was a rough awakening for Michelle to come to believe in shifters. They unit, and search for a resolution to Landon’s family curse. The narrator did a good job with the voices. It's so well written. You can feel all the emotions like you're the one going through it all with the characters. From the first sentence to the very last one, I was a captive audience.

Really good book

Michelle is divorced after she Kearns her husband has been cheating on her with the babysitter that they once employed. A relationship that has gone on for over ten years. She moves to a new town, got herself arrested, and then ended up in bed with the local sheriff. Now she's pregnant with his child and dealing with the supernatural she never believed existed. Landon, a bear shifter and the local sheriff, meets Michelle when he arrest her. He can't get her out of his mind. He doesn't want a mate because his family is cursed. When his brother Cory, stuck in his bear form for over 20 years or more ( the curse) , tries to come for his unborn cub, he looks for ways to break the curse and be with his fated mate now that he found her and got her pregnant.
Wonderful characters, supernatural beings, whimsical, steamy, drama, danger, fated mates, and a happily-ever-after.

This audiobook is fone very well and the narrator does an excellent job with the narration.

Romance for All

Love reading stories about women close to my age. This one was such a great story. Had me not wanting to put this down until I was done. This is a pretty quick read that packs a lot in its short pages. I loved the chemistry between Michelle and Landon!.

Bear

I loved the narration of D C Cole, he brings the characters, emotions, angst and heat to your ears. Perfect/

Bear shifter Landon is the towns local police officer, who has arrest recently divorced drunk Michelle for mooning patrons at a winery and then mooning him. Both him and his bear love her luscious behind. After the chargers are dropped Landon takes Michelle home and has breakfast and some very tasty dessert. Michelle is new to town and is a middle school teacher. The hot breakfast leave Michelle pregnant. Finding the courage she goes to Landon, but the day she does he is having a bad day. So when she tells him his reaction is not good. He knows he has cocked up and has to tell her the truth. That is he is a bear shifter and his family is cursed. Not only does she have to deal with that shifters are real but so are witches, a medium, and a feral bear.
This book has the right amount of heat, steam, angst and action. Perfect.

THE TEACHER AND THE DEPUTY BEAR SHIFTER

Landon and Michelle. Hes a deputy abd a bear shifter. Shes visiting the winery with a friend. Shes had too much wine and not any food. She decides to moon the other snobby women. And thats when he arrives to see the mooning. Her friend Shannon says she'll take her to bed and he says that would be fine if not for the mooning and its late she'll have to spend the night. Meanwhile his bear is going apeshut over him protecting this female and he doesnt know why. And Michelle is still spouting off you know they way a too drunk person does saying all sorts of true but not really things and all your personal things. But once in the back of the squard car she suddenly starts to lose her buzz and reality sets in. As he booked her and put her in a cell by herself and brought her a pillow, the sofest one he could find, and not one but two blankets and his lunch he didnt get a chance to eat and then stayed at work instead of going home to watch her sleep. When she woke OMG not good to start in a new school. ""Good Morning Sunshine"". Well of course the synopsis above leaves out the humorous banter and the great start to their relationship. This was a great and well written story about finding your mate and excepting the feelings. Loved it.
