Publisher's summary

Griffin Lawson was trained to steal, torture, and kill....

So when my brother mails me a mysterious treasure map and then disappears, I know this ex-CIA operative is the perfect man to help me. What I don’t expect is the instant chemistry that sparks between us.

I’m a boring, predictable librarian with a cat. Basically, a walking stereotype who has accepted her lonely fate. But when Griff and I team up to track down an infamous gangster’s gold and find my brother, my life takes an adventurous turn full of danger, excitement and intrigue.

We can’t deny the attraction that burns between us, and it doesn’t take long before it’s an all-out conflagration.

But Griff claims he’s not a good person, and that he’s seen too much. He may believe he’s a monster, but I see a good man who was willing to sacrifice his life for his country…and now for me.

I know I shouldn’t get involved with him, that he’s a heartbreak waiting to happen, but I can’t stay away, no matter how hard I try.

I can feel myself falling hard, and now that we’re on the verge of finding a priceless treasure and solving a 100-year-old mystery, I can’t help but wonder how do I trust a man who claims he has no conscience and used to lie for a living?

If you love a high-stakes romantic suspense that will set your heart racing, Dark Riches is your next audio adventure. This second electrifying installment in the Platinum Security series is a standalone, dual-perspective story with overlapping characters. Uncover a world of secrets, danger, and irresistible attraction.

Lexi & Griff

A treasure hunt! Adventure ensues when Lexi discovers her brother is kidnapped and he sent her a treasure map for safe keeping. She hires Griff to help rescue him and that’s when the adventure truly begins and the heat gets turned up. Working through some past trauma and finding courage within themselves made for a good story.

Griff & Lexi

I'm not sure I've ever listened to a romantic suspense before where the main characters were searching for a buried treasure but now I have. It was fast-paced with likeable characters and an exciting storyline. This is a standalone but is part of a series with interconnected characters. I have not listened to book 1 but it wasn't a problem at all because each story in the series is complete and about different couples that are connected through Platinum Security. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an insta-love romance with danger and suspense. Kenneth Elliott and Jamie Kersey both did a great job bringing this story to life.

Fantastic Story, Characters & Narration🎧

This is my first book written by Kelly Myers and consider me impressed. I enjoyed her writing style and the story she created is original, with interesting storylines that captivated my attention from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they were easy to care about too. Alexandria “Lexi” Ryder, is very knowledgeable, a perk of being a research librarian and when her brother, Kyle, was kidnapped, her friend Harlow Vaughn recommended Griffin “Griff” Lawson from Platinum Security. Griff is a former CIA operative and the best locator there is, and after looking at the picture Harlow sent, she could tell he was also gorgeous. Griff felt an instant attraction the moment Lexi walked into his office. But he was not going to even go there since he does not get involved with clients, plus he is anti-relationship because his last relationship left a nasty taste in his mouth. The two go to New York to find her brother and while he had reservations about his kidnapping, all the pieces fall into place to confirm foul play and then take them on a treasure hunt of their own. I loved all the layers to this story and the complexity of the characters. The world building and plotting is fantastic, and the story has plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some action, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Kelly Myers, thank you for this intriguing story!

🎧📚🎧 And for the terrific narration, Kenneth Elliott and Jamie Kersey are entertaining storytellers and versatile voice artists. They did a great job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that fit that character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into his performance. Thank you for the great listen.

Great Book

I enjoyed this fast paced action- packed mystery of treasure hunting, a missing brother, and underlying romance between protector and client. Lexi is a librarian who lives a simple life. Her brother sends her a treasure map with no explanation. When he disappears she reaches out to Platinum Security requesting Griffin's help. Kenneth Elliott and Jamie Jersey did a fantastic job with the narration.

Honestly I didn’t think I was going to like this book but once I started listening I couldn’t stop. This book had me sitting in suspense and the romance was pretty good. The way they describe each other and how they act towards each other made me smile. I highly recommend this book. Absolutely loved it

Lexi Ruined the Story. Narration Was Meh.

This was a DNF for me. I was interested in the search for Lexi's brother. Not so much in the treasure, but the circumstances behind his disappearance.

Lexi's behavior made this book almost unbearable to read. The mixed signals she was throwing at Griff irritated me. She blew hot and cold and tried to blame him for responding to the behavior she initiated. I thought she was being very manipulative, petty, and childish.

I could not believe that she was unwilling to accept any responsibility for her part in their sexual relationship. Not to mention, she spent all her time in an internal conversation about why Griff wouldn't want her anyway. She spent too much time playing mind games.

I listened to the audiobook, and tbh, the narration did not do much for me.

I made it to chapter 19. If I find that I can bring myself to go back and finish this book, I will update the review.
