Publisher's summary

Tristan Everett was finally getting used to the strangeness that was his life. Being able to see the dead and helping them solve their unfinished business and cross into the light wasn’t so bad after all, especially when he was accompanied by his best friend, dead drag queen Dusty Le Frey. His boyfriend, sexy Scotland Yard detective Danny Hayes, now knew the truth about Tristan’s “gift,” and they were about to move in together officially.

Life was good.

That is until Death—honest to god, Death (aka The Grim Reaper)—pitches up in Tristan’s kitchen with an unusual request: stop Dusty’s ghostly hookup Bruce from crossing into the light, which may result in dire consequences. i.e. an accidental apocalypse.

Determined to do the exact opposite, and avoid potentially the end of the world, Tristan and Danny assemble their own ragtag gang of one prickly witch, one snarky psychic private investigator, one living drag queen with an affinity for feathers, and one dead one with an affinity for a deceased rugby player in tiny shorts. Together they must solve a forty-year old cold case, while juggling a dose of the flu, a broken leg, a supernatural storm, and an immortal death deity with the looks and temperament of a sexy but grouchy CEO.

Seriously… what could possibly go wrong?

From Author Vawn Cassidy comes the next instalment of this hilarious and sweet paranormal romance mystery series.

Hooray for Tristan and Danny

This one sheds light into Danny’s past and the past of Dusty’s new ghost man Bruce Reyes. There is also Death (The Grim Reaper) chasing after Tristan and then is falling for Chan, one of the ladies from the drag show. Many mishaps for Tristan and Danny but they make it and save the day (or world)

Can’t get enough!

This series doesn’t disappoint. Every book in this series I have laughed, I have cried, and I have been thoroughly entertained. Not only do I love the main characters but all the side characters as well. I highly recommend

Great Continuation

This was so good. I love this series. Danny, Tristan and the entire gang of both ghosts and non-ghosts. So, Death comes a calling while poor Tristan is super sick. He wants Tristan to stop the finding of Bruce’s bones as that would be catastrophic. There is a storm that doesn’t seem natural and after Danny & his partner inspects the area where the bones were found, they are involved in an auto accident resulting in a broken leg. We have the investigation on how Bruce was killed, what is behind the supernatural things going on & stopping the end of the world. The book was awesome. A lot of things come to light, the death of Bruce, how he is related to the bookstore & portal, what’s behind the portal & just so many questions answered. I do not recommend reading this as a standalone, you really need to read the first two books. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

A Fun Series!

Vawn Cassidy keeps the paranormal series going strong with a terrific third book. Funny and sometimes snarky, but never too much snark, Vawn almost lets the world end in this book. And there’s some emotionally touching scenes to boot.
Joel Leslie is fabulous as always.

Hijinks abound

In this edition of Dead Serious we have Tristan, Danny, Dusty, and the rest of the team rushing against the clock to stop Chaos from destroying the world. We meet Death properly and gets to see Danny and Sam working together. We also gets more of Harrison, Chan, and the rest of the Rainbow Room crew. It's one big found family of fabulous characters. It's got so many memorable moments and an added bonus, our beloved Bruce finally gets to resolved his unfinished business. This series is amazing and I can't wait for the next book to be in audio. Joel Leslie continues to be the perfect Narrator for this series. He gets each character and portrayed their personality perfectly.

Heartwarming and funny

I really enjoy this series. It’s not angsty, the characters are likable and the relationships feel natural. It’s a funny thing to say about a paranormal book but I think that’s what makes them so good. The mysteries and the magic bring the suspense and drama so the relationships don’t have to. There’s a lot of compassion in how the characters are written while they’re making silly snarky comments half the time. I imagine that’s hard to do as a writer.

One accidental LOL moment was when the narrator mispronounced oxytocin “oxytoxin”. Maybe love hormones are toxic sometimes but not in this book :)

Seriously funny

The rep of shyness. The main character presented as inane instead of owning the solution to the story. I don't mind some naive people who accidentally find the story solution. However, for the sake of the story add a little more strength to the character presented as the lead. Then figure out how to deliver

fun and cheeky

The best performance yet from the narrator! The story is a fun ride of romance, buddy moive action and Scooby-Doo mystery. Just a fun ride the whole way. If you like Buffy, or Supernatural, than this campy feel good series is for you.

A delightful read!

This may be my favorite in this series, which really requires you to read the whole thing, not great as a stand alone. Funny and well paced with enough mystery and drama to keep your interest piqued. I absolutely love the found family being created here. A bit of sex so not exactly a cozy but pretty close. The narration is very good, though you do have to be a fan of Joel Leslie who has a very specific voice.
