Publisher's summary

The picture of a man she vaguely knew splashed across the front of a tabloid shook Dakota Mitchell to the core. It might be 13 years after she suffered the double trauma of having her home burglarized the same night her parents died in a car accident, but the man’s tattoo reawakened memories locked hidden away. Pressed to discover the truth of what happened that fateful night, she finds out the man has her mother’s favorite locket. She teams up with her therapy canine, Halo, to take back what belongs to her - even if it means stealing it.

Colt Jackson is furious when a woman and her golden retriever land in the middle of his stakeout. He can’t afford to have her rat them out to his mark and blow the Wingate investigation, and he can’t trust her not to return and try again. So instead, he makes a deal with her - one that will get her what she wants and put the bad guy behind bars.

But when the bad guy gets out on a technicality, it's up to Colt and Halo to save Dakota. This sweet tale of suspense, danger, and righting wrongs is one you won’t want to miss. Order your copy, and start listening today!

Truth prevails

An action packed story of setting things right while finding peace and happiness in the bargain. A clean sweet story. The connection was a little fast, but who can tell what timeline love runs on!
The narrator did a great job of voice variation to distinguish the characters. It was read at a good pace for easy listening.

Halo steals the show!

The dog. That is all I need to say. I am a huge dog lover and was thrilled to see that Halo was going to be a main character in this story! Dakota was traumatized when her parents were killed in a crash and and her house was robbed, she finds her memory is wiped clean of the details. Now thirteen years later, she gets some of it back and is on a mission to retrieve her mother's locket. Colt is an FBI agent, staking out the same person Dakota thinks is the culprit. He doesn't have time for Dakota's shenanigans, and she could screw up all of his work. So what is the solution? I am not going to say, but this is a fantastic listen, packed with a slow burning romance, a different look perspective of Dakota's past that could lead to closure and a man who is working on his fear of dogs! It's fast paced, exciting and so much fun to listen to. I loved every minute!

Rachel Butler brings this gem to life with a fabulous narration. She easily voices each character with a distinguishable sound and even adds some dog barking in it for effect. I enjoyed her interpretation of the players and hope to hear more of this series from her!
