Publisher's summary

Treachery, duplicity, death....

Elizabeth Kearn thinks her biggest problem is having a run of bad luck with men. That is, until someone spray paints her garage door with the word whore and leaves her unconscious with a deep gash in her head. Then, two exes come back into her life, neither particularly welcome.

A recent ex, Walt, asks for her help when he’s suspected of doing away with his current girlfriend, Patti. Edgar, now married, comes into town on a mission to reignite their decade-old romance, and he's not happy to find he has to compete with Walt for her attention.

When Patti turns up alive, everyone involved is relieved, especially Edgar. But that relief does not last long when someone is murdered. Elizabeth is drawn into a web of treachery, duplicity, and revenge when she starts uncovering secrets and finds her own life in danger from an anonymous stalker intent on seeing her dead.

With so much drama, what's a little thing like murder?

Do not go by the summary, this book is so so much

This book was such a great surprise. I thought it would be good, but had no clue it would be great! I started listening with the summary in mind and when it veered off to other twist another revelations I was just blown away. I really don’t want to say, because I want others to have the awesome experience I did when getting into this book. Just know Elizabeth is not the only one who experiences violence with eventual devastation and some may say they deserve it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly highly highly recommend it! If you love a good mystery with plot twist upon plot twist this is the book for you. It is so so good. It really is really really good!

Twists and turns!

Held my attention throughout with a twist at the end.

Talmadge Ragan did a good job narrating.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Layers and layers of twists.

I was gien a free copy of this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.

An aazing read, most definitely. Books are just like oninons. layers uppon layers and you peel one back just to uncover another one. This was a phenomenal read, by Ms rogers, and an equally amazing narration job by Ms Ragan. I enjoyed this one and it's going to stick with you for a long time to come. In reading this, it begs the question. How many of us, are, Deliberate fools. Indeed. Someting happens, catastrophic in some cases, things unravel, due to the hands and help of others who mean well, and deliberately cause an avalanche of sorts, just to have it all collapse in on itself at the end. it does but wraps up, shall we say, rather neatly amidst the colapse. But efore you get there, the twists and turns that take you there are so rapid you just hold on to see where it might end up and you can't just walk away from it. Thsi was an amazing story great plot, great characters. if you're looking for a great read with plenty of guesses and a definite unputdownable pageturner, this one is for you. Great to kick off the holiday weekend. Happy reading yall. Enjly!!

Ugh!

This was an interesting listen but the narrator had a habit (a cringey habit) of pronouncing single syllabic words that end with "d" as two syllabic words. "Drowned" became "drown-ded" and when that cadence bled into the next word, which it did every. single. time, it made for a very uncomfortable listen. I finished the listen but that was more because I didn't have another book in the pipeline and did not want to stop what I was doing to find one.
