Publisher's summary
Damaged. Disgraced. Dishonored. And the only hero who can save seven worlds.
When a freak accident ruins his body and his memory, Wes Malcolm loses his scholarship and his place in the world. Every treatment has failed, save one: a fully immersive VR game, designed by his late, disgraced father, that mimics the condition his body used to possess. To everyone's disbelief, his body and mind slowly improve, bit by bit, but it's still not enough.
Then one night, he wakes up in a world just like the game his father designed. Here, he can grow, learn, and thrive. But this world and all its sister planets are under assault from nightmare creatures, supernatural storms, and a host of other cataclysms. The strange, beautiful steward of these worlds offers him a deal: Save her planets, and he can take the power he gains back to his original body on Earth. It's the best chance he's ever been offered. But will his determination be enough, both for himself and the worlds now depending on him?
Come and find out.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

The world isn't what it used to be after the first apocalypse. Scourge roam the desolate wasteland, preying on whoever dares set foot outside the few remaining Megapolis. While enforcing tax from the local province, Raiden and the Mercenary Union's cultivator team come face to face with the latest the Scourge could throw at them: monstrosities far beyond their capabilities. Surviving an onslaught they shouldn't have, the small group manages to find their way home, only to get caught up in a decades-old political play for power.

Story
Thirteen years ago, books of magic were discovered in various sites around the world alongside the bones of dragons. Only those born after “Discovery Day” have the power to use the magic. Now, on a vacation to Washington, DC, Fort Fitzgerald’s father is lost when a giant creature bursts through the earth, attacking the city. Fort is devastated, until an opportunity for justice arrives six months later, when a man named Dr. Opps invites Fort to a government-run school, the Oppenheimer School, to learn magic from those same books. But life’s no easier at the school.

Gabriel Delling might call himself a professional con artist, but when walking superstitions start trying to bite his face off, his charm is shockingly unhelpful. It turns out living nightmares almost never appreciate a good joke. Together with a succubus who insists on constantly saving his life, Gabe desperately tries to survive a new reality that suddenly features demons, legends, and a giant locust named Dale - all of whom pretty much hate his guts. And when an ancient horror comes hunting for a spirit locked in his head, Gabe finds himself faced with the excruciating choice between death...or becoming some kind of freaking hero.

Imagine going to bed with mousy brown locks and waking up with a headful of supernova scarlet. It's a hot new look for me - literally, because it bursts into flames whenever I'm threatened. My magical makeover is all Gary's fault. I knew there was something off from the moment he transferred to my school. Go figure. He's a wizard with a trust fund and an inferiority complex. Story
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

"Dude! It finally came!" My roommate barely withheld his excitement as he barreled into the living room of our apartment with a package in his hand. "Check it out, Jacob." He smiled as he tore at the brown paper surrounding his purchase. As he ripped the covering off the package, bits and pieces scattered all across the floor of the living room like confetti. For a second, I thought about lecturing Todd about not making a mess of our apartment, but who was I kidding? This place was already a shithole. At least some half-assed confetti would make it feel a little livelier.

But even if he wanted to do it, he can't. They're cultivators: beings with ancestral bloodlines that have powers he could only dream of, while he is stuck as a puny human. Even if he could kill them, the people who bullied him, beat him, treated him like a punch-bag pariah for being a "tailless worthless human", he wouldn't. Great Narrators, Evocative Writing
Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet have won my appreciation as fantastic narrators. They both have a talent to portray the emotions on the page and I have found myself both laughing and crying throughout this series as Wes Malcom overcomes difficulties. I've listened to the three books currently available on Audible and will miss Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet's presence as I push onward through the series.
Nathan Thompson has taken the concept of a LitRPG/GameLit book and pushed it in a direction I haven't seen from many other series in the genre. Regardless of the safety mechanisms described for the lead character, there is a constant feeling of peril and consequence.

Fantastic story
This one is pretty good. The MC seems OP, but has his kryptonite and it's in the hands of some baaaaaaad people.
The guy is run through the ringer and... well... you know. pick it up and check it out. I'm immediately getting the second in the series.

Seamless story telling
Sometimes, with multiple narrators, it can be a little jarring to switch from one voice to another. Not this time. Wonderful blending, wonderful reading, wonderful story! Can’t wait to read and hear more!

Must Read
This is one of the best LitRPGs out there loved by multiple well known authors in this genre like Jez Cajiao. If you like the zero to OP MC track this one is for you. If you want villains that you can out right hate this one is for you. If you want the psychological toll on the hero acknowledged and part of what has to be overcome this is for you.

Exciting
This is an exciting story about overcoming challenges and going on to triumph over adversity. There are game lit actions and lots of world building and character building activities. It’s never boring. Also the narrator does a great job! I am looking forward to more books in this series!!!
