Publisher's summary
IT’S WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE THAT COUNTS…
Jacob Westergren, an expert in his field of study, gets paid to research the most sickening parasites known to man. But, even when he looks at the most appalling of the species, he does not see the intrusive ugliness that humanity does, he sees himself. He sees a vessel by which to purge himself of an amalgam of detestable emotions. Emboldened by promising experimentation, Jacob is anxious to unburden himself by sharing his emotional parasite, in physical form, with the rest of the world.
DEFINITIVE PROOF THAT, WE HUMANS ARE THE GREATEST OF EARTHS PARASITES...

Story
Rick Richardson was a writer. He was good, too, despite what the reviews might've said. They said his writing was bad, but Rick knew that wasn't true. He knew the real reason they didn't like his books was because of the content. You see, Rick wrote "splatterpunk"...it was understandable that people might be triggered by the graphic nature of his stories. But then again, that's what the trigger warnings were for.

An inbred homicidal pervert? A supernatural psychopath? Who or whatever he is, he's on a roll now, raging out of the Virginia backwoods and leaving in his wake a trail of blood, guts, and disgust far beyond the limits of your reckoning.

A day when family and friends show their support for the beginning of a beautiful bond. But what if someone wasn't there just to celebrate and have fun? Story
Oliver Fitch has a troubling issue: He lives in a state of constant terror. After purchasing a convenience store in a once civil society, the streets around him have rapidly devolved into utter lawlessness. They're now festering with sinister gutter scum that live only to harass and intimidate him. His pathetic profits are gouged under the threat of violence, and there isn't a damn thing he can do about it. Because in a city with no rules, where the sun never shines, the authorities are no help. In fact, they're an equal part of the problem.

The Doctor Will See You Now
Rowland Bercy Jr's books just keep getting better and better!
I've never listened to an audiobook that felt so cinematic with the addition of sound effects! The squishes and squelches only add to the ambiance as Dr. Parasite experiments with his creepy-crawly friends.
This story had me thinking of films like Slither, Night of the Creeps, Dreamcatcher, and many others full of little slimy creatures who want nothing more than to find a human host and take control. I loved it!
