About this listen
Piper Willow's adventure in the afterlife continues as she struggles to discover who she is and what is expected of her. Faced with decisions that could change everything, she must weigh her desire to be with the ones she has come to love, or satisfy her curiosity and find out what lies beyond her world with someone new. What Piper experiences and the choices she makes could not only alter the delicate inner workings of the Station, but the delicate balance that Piper has managed to maintain inside herself. In the end, will it all be worth it?

Kirian and I were just 12 years old when I pulled him from the creek behind my house. As he looked in my direction with unseeing lavender eyes, I quickly realized our age was just about the only thing we had in common. He spoke with an accent, he had pointy ears, and he was so beautiful it made my heart ache. Oh, and he claimed to be a fae prince cursed by witches who stole his sight. I thought he was crazy from hypothermia. Turns out, he wasn’t, and for some reason he keeps coming back. But a day in my world is a year in his. Every time I see him, he’s older. Wiser. Hotter.

Story
Plagued by nightmares and panic attacks, seventeen-year-old Jax Mitchell wants nothing more than a life of seclusion with only her twin brother for company. So when he's kidnapped by Earth's reclusive alien settlers, the E'rikon, she'll do anything to get him back--even form an alliance with a teenage E'rikon boy left behind by the same ship that took her brother. Jax agrees to act as a guide, and in return, the alien agrees to sneak her past the human-proof barrier surrounding the E'rikon city. Too bad it's not that simple. Jax soon finds that she's drawn to the alien boy with bright green hair and jewel-like scales on his back--and he's equally affected by her, the courageous redhead with haunted eyes. But she doesn't know the alien's true motives, and he has no idea that she is much more than she seems. With the aliens and the humans at odds, the connection forming between the two teens has consequences. What started off as a rescue mission sets in motion a chain of events that threatens not only the remaining humans and the growing alien society, but Earth itself.

The Hunger Games meets Cinderella. This fairy tale has no happy endings - only dark beginnings. They call them the Crimson Fold. High up in their castle they look down on my little world and wield a silent control. That is, until the invitations are sent out. I never dreamed I'd be selected. They tell me it's a privilege. I should be honored. But the fear in their eyes doesn't lie. If I refuse to go, my family will be shunned. If I go, my life and my body will no longer be mine. It'll be theirs. At midnight it will be over. At midnight, I'll be his.

Turned into an insta-love triangle mess
The following review contains spoiler.
what a giant steaming pil3 of garbage this series has turned into. What was a sweet romance building up between and Piper and sloan has morphed into a really weird love triangle. What I find the most offensive Piper had very strong feelings about abusive men which is completely understandable. But she chucks out entire view out the window when she meets "Rush" an alien who mind rapes her and she seems perfectly okay with this. Frankly i found it very creepy. Rush practically demands Piper to with him o his home world away from all of her friends and Sloan, which she doesn't want but oh since her "hormones" is running rampant that's okay, at least that's how Piper justifies it. She spends the entire time leading up to the time of her departure mooning over the alien that just mind raped her without wondering that taking a trip is a good idea. -- especially Rush is a very domineering man. The entire time when Piper is on Rush's home planet she's pining for Sloan and her friends. Rush under the guise of "training" her to be a seeker He assaults Piper, she tells him that he's hurting her and he doesn't stop, at least not until she pukes on him. He leaves Piper alone so his sister a psycho teenager who can mind control/adjust emotions and she wants to "help" piper. Thankfully Piper starts to see sense and declines. Later when she's with Rush and he's taking her back to the station, she tries to apologize!
I'm so thoroughly disappointment in how Piper turned out I don't want to even read volume 4. I will just to see what happens -- allegedly it's the end of Piper's adventures. There's twist when Piper gets back to that station and when I found out I simply shook my head and any excitement at a possible show down was gone at this point... let's just say I wasn't cheering for Piper and even thinking that makes my skin crawl.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
