Publisher's summary

Hi, fellow music lover! Congratulations on starting your music-making journey.

This lesson is broken into several chapters. The first part focuses on interval identification exercises, starting with grouped intervals and ending with all intervals mixed up. The second part of the book focuses on extremely valuable exercises with the help of fifths. The third part is a simple yet powerful exercise that allows you to manifest the sound of each interval even more.

The fourth part focuses on chord identification exercises, starting with grouped chords and ending with all chords mixed up. The fifth part of the book focuses on extremely valuable exercises with the help of a drone. The last part brings you very close to a real-life situation. Short chord progressions played by either a full band or a solo piano put your ears to the final test.

Best of all, this lesson doesn’t limit itself to dry theory: after a brief introduction to every concept, we completely focus on listening exercises to sharpen your ear.

Oh, and before I forget, the most important tip of all: have fun!

Good Method, Good Piano Sound, Plenty of Exercises

I was curious what the difference between this course and the other one for guitar might be. All exercises are played on piano instead of guitar. Besides, this course uses a different method. I'm glad it's been making a great addition to the ear training course for guitar!

I like that all intervals are played up, down, and simultaneously. This way, I could get an even better feeling for each interval. The two additional exercises, next to interval recognition, have clear instructions. Every listener should know what to do here.

Every chord is well introduced. You will know what to listen for. Two additional exercises round off the chords section. I especially like the musical examples! The sound is great!

Conclusion

Great method, good piano sound, plenty of exercises. If you really want to become a better musician, you can't go wrong with this course. No matter what instrument you play, check out Ear Training Course for Guitar: Scales. Perfect complement if you ask me!
