About this listen

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, a special gift edition of Edgedancer, a short novel of the Stormlight Archive (previously published in Arcanum Unbounded).

Three years ago, Lift asked a goddess to stop her from growing older—a wish she believed was granted. Now, in Edgedancer, the barely teenage nascent Knight Radiant finds that time stands still for no one. Although the young Azish emperor granted her safe haven from an executioner she knows only as Darkness, court life is suffocating the free-spirited Lift, who can't help heading to Yeddaw when she hears the relentless Darkness is there hunting people like her with budding powers. The downtrodden in Yeddaw have no champion, and Lift knows she must seize this awesome responsibility.

Best Of The Stormlight Archive!

Edgewater is an incredibly riveting story circling my favorite surgebinder! I love the first two books a lot, but this one was platinum!

Awesome and short

Really great to get these little novellas that can be finished in a single road trip and be Sanderson through and through! Highly recommend you read this prior to Oathbringer but not necessary.

Worth it!

With the other novels in this series so long, I thought the shirt length of this novella might not be worth it, but I love Lift so much; absolutely worth the credit!

Awesome book

This is a really good book and a nice little break from all the other ones. It has really good characters and if anybody doesn’t like it they’re either crazy or just Starvin stupid.

Made me laugh

A quick, yet likely a very helpful and informative read. It made me laugh a few times. I liked it. I’m excited to dive into Oathbringer

The humor of Lyft & her spren.

I loved it all - the story, the unexpected moments of compassion for unlikely characters, and the talent of this reader whose voice interpretation was brilliant. And of course, the genius of the author. Grateful for this novella. :)

A great addition to the series

Sanderson says it himself, but this was a great way to provide perspective on the bigger picture of the storm light world, while also being a fun and easy read.

Yes, it's worth listening to.

As I finished listening to the second book, I was hesitant about adding this novella to the already numerous hours containing the rest of the series. I was also worried that it would throw me out of the story as some other novellas tend to do. Fortunately, I decided that I wanted the complete experience, and I am so glad that I gave this book a listen.

TLDR: If you're on the fence, it's worth the read. :)
