Worth Your Time

It's a quick listen and it kept my attention. Of course, I've always loved ancient Egyptian things. Some of this was a review for me, but other bits were new and helped connect all the pieces. There were touches of humor (some definite dad jokes) and pop culture references throughout to make it not just a straight history. All in all, I'm pleased with this listen.

Very enjoyable.

I listened to this book at 1.30x

David Fuentes is very funny in making mythology fun to learn about. I cant wait to get more myth books by him.

It's a funny book informing you who's who in Egyptian Mythology.

How they got their names. who they were married to , their parents and children.

It was witty. the vocal artist Jason Hunt did a very very good job.

An entertaining short listen...

Egyptian Myths You Must Know Before You Die! by David Fuentes and narrated by Jason Hunt is an entertaining short listen. This book is similar style to the authors Greek Myth book but Egyptian Mythology (duh), so my review will be similar. You learn the good, the bad, the ugly. There’s a little pop-culture and humor thrown in. It was a short enough listen to keep my interest but not long enough that it put me to sleep. With that being said, these books are not for everyone- listen if you don’t mind humor that goes anywhere or don’t mind learning the brutality behind some of the myths (incest, different way the Gods could kill you, etc.). The narrator, Jason Hunt, did a good job. I’d listen to him again.

“Horus lost one of his eyes in a brutal fight with his uncle Seth of which became the ‘Eye of Horus’ a powerful amulet that the Egyptians worshiped in its own right for its protective properties against evil, danger, and disease; but not against those cravings you have for McDonald’s.”

“Ever the showboater he can often be seen sporting an Atef crown which had ostrich feathers and a gold disk on top.”

Humorous Sampling of History and Mythology

The author introduces a list of the Egyptian deities with humorous asides which add interest especially for young readers. Then he lists a few of the Egyptian pharaohs with interesting facts about them and funny remarks . The last portion recounts the story of the Ten Plagues from the Bible.

It sparked my interest in further reading about Egyptian history and mythology. I believe this is the author’s purpose in writing the book and in my case, he accomplished it!

Funny and Informative

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Although this book only begins to explore Egyptian Myths, it is worth the listen. The narration is great, and makes learning fun. I enjoyed hearing about myths I didn't know existed, and appreciated the commentary the author included for each one. If you want a quick, witty, and informative listen this book is perfect for you!

Good place to begin learning

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I enjoyed the book, it was short and presented the information very well, Gave a concise overview of the many gods and their relationships. I really liked how the author used small jokes to compare some of the events to today's events.
Recommended for those who are any bit interested in knowing more about the history of the Egyptian Myths.
