About this listen

As the colony grapples with the realization that New Earth is not as uninhabited as they’d once thought, tensions between the colonial settlements rise to new heights, and the Colonial Defense Force finds itself caught in the middle.

When Connor uncovers evidence of a militant colonial faction secretly exploiting the NEIIS, he has to investigate. Connor learns that some of the colonial settlements have been holding back discoveries of their own. He’d thought the NEIIS were a threat to the colony, but he was wrong. They all were, and the truth is beyond anything Connor could have imagined.

Meanwhile, Colonel Sean Quinn’s latest mission brings him off-world to investigate a previously discovered NEIIS settlement. When all communications from home go silent, he must return to New Earth to investigate. Cut off from everything, Sean must lead the crew of a CDF warship against a mysterious foe. Sean must forge a path into the unknown if he’s to have any hope of unraveling the mystery.

Emergence is the sixth book in the best-selling First Colony military space opera series.

Another Wild Ride

This was a great book. I can only hope this is not the last book.

Adventures continue

I enjoyed the book, the characters and the new tribulations and disasters. Maybe I'm mean but things seemed to resolve a little too easy and quickly. Plus, we had 3 story lines going and they seem flip a lot within a chapter. I'd lose track of which plot line I'm on with the narration.
Since we are left at the end with a opportunity for further books. I'll look forward to the next one.

The story continues...

another good chapter in the story that sounds both compelling and believable. I look forward to the next book.

Entertaining and fun. Great performance.

Good "space opera" made more enjoyable by the reading of Scott Aiello and his seemingly endless repertoire of voices.

A Good continuation of the series

The series really needs to be read from the start. This series seems to have A Good balance of military, suspense, drama, and well developed characters to keep the reader engaged and looking for more.
The voice actor does a good job with male voices, but the presentation would be better if a female voice actor read the female portions, unfortunately they don't come across well with just one male voice actor.
This was a very interesting expansion of the series, that could open the door to many more installments in the series. The story premise in this installment is one rarely explored by other authors, it will be interesting to see where the author takes it in future installments in the series. It was interesting to see where the author took the internal politics of the colony in this installment, it made it clear that the colony has more then the dozen characters that have been carried forward from previous installments of the series. Other characters in the colony have agendas of their own, and some of the dark motives of big politics might be coming into the idealized society of the colony. It will be interesting to see if the author emphasizes the "you can't trust anyone concept" or sticks with the "we can make it if we just stick together" thread of the earlier books.
BOTTOM LINE: I feel this installment was good and worth the purchase, others that have read or listened to the series should enjoy it, but it would be very hard to drop into the series with this installment without reading the earlier books.

Best book so far

The First Colony series has been a great read. I was looking for good space sci-fi while I wait for the next Expeditionary Force book. This book has been the best one so far. I'm really looking forward to the next book and will be here for the full story.

Great Sci-Fi Series that captures the imagination

The First Colon series is an interesting and imaginative series. The characters are believable within the context of the world created within the books. The story narrative is consistently and contiguously managed across and within each book and the performance is engaging. Great fun!

Shallow storyline.

I felt this book was rushed to production. I’m very happy to be able to read the books as quickly as I can obtain them, but I would rather have a book to leave me with an in depth storyline and satisfaction.

WOW! I love this series

I have been reading the First Colony series from Genesis on. I just finished book seven. In all the books I am eagerly awaiting the next paragraph. Mr. Ken Lozito is an incredible author and I am so very glad that he bailed on the IT security gig. His art is writing. God has blessed this man with a wife and children but also with the ability to take the reader away in an awesome journey. I believe that Mr. Lozito will be writing for many many years and I look forward to the next book.

Simply Outstanding

While I failed to comment on Genesis, after listening to Ken Lozito’s unexpected personal remarks at the conclusion of Book-7, I decided to go back to the earliest book of the "First Colony Series," still in my possession, to input this brief analysis. Indeed, I lack the suitable words to convey the extent of my enormous appreciation for each single work of this anthology, for, ever since I finished listening to Genesis, I could not wait to start enjoying the next one. Lastly, I would like to vigorously applaud the author of this magnificent series, and to thank him for having composed them for his devoted audience.
