Past Whispers, Future Promises - The Lady's Heart Decides.
Lady Sophia Norrington's quest for peace away from society's glare leads her to a kindred spirit, where whispers of the heart could shape her future.
In "Enlightening The Lady," the youngest Norrington, Sophia, longs for life's quiet joys, away from the season's clamor. Her retreat is a secluded stream, her solace found in books and quietude. But when Stephen, a viscount with a disdain for societal expectations, invades her sanctuary, they form an unexpected bond. As they share laughs and literary passions, Sophia's heart is drawn to possibilities she never dared to dream. But with her mother's ambitions and Stephen's aversion to marriage, their budding love faces a trial by society's gaze. Can Sophia's newfound courage defy conventions and allow her to embrace a future led by love?

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Lovely story
This is a lovely coming of age story featuring the youngest Norrington sibling. With her friend Sarah, now married to her brother, away in Paris, Sophia doesn't want to face the Season alone. She prefers to just take a break and enjoy her books. With the idea of doing just that, she heads off to her favorite spot, hoping to have some alone time, only when she arrives, she sees someone else also had the same idea. Here she meets Stephen. At first she is annoyed, but very quickly begins to enjoy his company. They strike up a friendship and Sophia proposes a marriage of convenience, which he refuses. Heart broken, she goes off to partake in the Season and encounters Stephen and finds out that he somewhat deceived her. With a bit of drama and some twists, the story comes to a satisfying conclusion. I listened to this as an audiobook and enjoyed it very much.
A lovely, sweet and clean story!

entertaining
This was a sweet story that kept me smiling throughout while listening. Steven and Sophia were a well matched couple. Sophia made things more complicated than necessary . Steven doesn't take no for an answer thankfully for them both . A wonderful heartwarming ending. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.
