There are two sides to every story.
But only one is the truth.
A young woman turns up at a police station. She has been kept prisoner in her own home. Abused and tortured, her every move watched, her every thought controlled. Now she's finally escaped.
That's what she says.
But when the police arrive at the address she's given them, her story doesn't seem to add up. Her husband is missing, but his phone and wallet are still in the house.
She says she's the victim, but what if she's not? What if the stories she's telling aren't her stories at all....

I had not one clue with this! I kept thinking I had it but nope.
Great plot, fabulous characters, some to love, some to hate, a good dose of humor, believe it or not, which I love, and this narrator could be the next Jim Dale!
Def recommend!

made me wonder who really was the bad guy.
had me guessing all the time about what and how the outcome of this particular scene was going to be.
it had all different characters. but yet they all fit into the story.
I loved it and would highly recommend this book!!
best book ever

Terrific writer and narrator
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Drawback to the story was that some of it was just unbelievable, repetitive and did not give the main characters a chance to outgrow their angst and defend themselves due to the not very efficient detective and the dumbing down of the system and the flaws that it holds within. The story had potential to become riveting but ended up somewhat flat due to the predictability and just sheer nonsense of part of the story development.
Now, the narrator, that is an another story. If Emma Gregory did indeed all the characters voices, she needs a medal, it was just plain awesome! It made the book for me. Overall, I liked the book, glad I got it from the plus catalog.
BEST NARRATOR EVER!

Good listen

The plot is full of holes and the entire "mystery" could have been solved by using a fraction of common sense. There are no real motives behind the actions of the 3 protagonists and the conclusion is, that there is none.
The narrator was great and her brilliant work made me finish the audiobook, despite losing interest in the story around halfway through.
I am honestly surprised that in over a 12h long audiobook, there was so little said about the main characters that by end of the book you know as much about them as you did after the 1st chapter.
Decent build-up falling flat
