About this listen
Vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard with his family, 10-year-old Peter Morgan is thrilled when he meets Charles Williams. The feeling is mutual. Both boys are happy to have a friend to hang with for the summer, instead of having to follow their parents everywhere around the island. Their excitement hits an almost fever pitch when they discover that Jaws 2 is being filmed in Edgartown! When the two boys meet Craig Upland, an islander and member of the production, he says he can get them up close and personal with one of the mechanical sharks. The boys will remember this summer season for the rest of their lives.
Judie Tate and Alan Quaid are spending the summer navigating their relationship while sailing the waters of Vineyard Sound. They’re both attractive, single, and they enjoy each other’s company—so why not? It seems only natural that a romance should blossom. That is, until Craig Upland drives into the picture and takes an interest in Judie. Sails are hoisted, tempers brew, and tensions run deep. Everything comes to a head during a storm the likes of which the island won’t soon forget.
Forty-five years later, the sun rises on a new summer season. 1977 was a big year in the island's history—movie productions, the disappearance of a boy from a prominent family, and political unrest forcing the island to try and secede from the state of Massachusetts. It’s all the focus of an exciting art exhibit in Edgartown which brings Peter and Charles back together again for the first time in almost five decades. Charles is married to the Edgartown police chief and Peter is now a celebrated New York artist. He has come back to the island to excavate the demons that have made his art popular but are also slowly killing him. Photos the two boys took that summer are to be featured in the exhibit. Yet someone does not want the exhibit to take place. Someone is willing to do anything to stop the secrets of the past from swimming to the surface.

Callie Weaver and best friend Olivia Dixon have finally done it: put their life savings into the beach house they admired through childhood summers, on the dazzling white sand of North Carolina’s Outer Banks. They’re going to buff the salt from its windows, paint its sun-bleached sidings, and open it as a bed and breakfast. Callie’s too busy to think about her love life, but when she catches the attention of local heartthrob Luke Sullivan, his blue eyes and easy smile make it hard to say no.

With Chicago winters in the rearview mirror, Chloe Jackson is making good on a promise: helping her late friend’s grandmother run the Sea Glass Saloon in the Florida Panhandle. To Chloe’s surprise, feisty Vivi Slidell isn’t the frail retiree Chloe expects - nor is Emerald Cove. It’s less a sleepy fishing village than a panhandle hot spot overrun with land developers and tourists. But it’s a Sea Glass regular who’s mysteriously crossed the cranky Vivi. When their bitter argument comes to a head and he’s found dead behind the bar, guess who’s the number one suspect?

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Amazing . Didn’t want it to end!
Let's start with the plot... brilliantly constructed, keeping you guessing until the very end. The suspense builds steadily, leaving you eager to uncover the truth behind the dark painting that was painted over and over again by an anguished Peter. As the layers of the story unfold, Haskins skillfully explores themes of friendship, trust, mental health, and vulnerability. Additionally, the mentions of places on Martha's Vineyard make you feel like you are there

Great performance of a gripping story
I was pulled in from the very beginning, the story is paced well and is satisfying without being predictable. The performance made me feel like I was getting to know all of the characters, and overall the effect was more like a radio play minus sound effects than the work of a single narrator. Brilliantly done!
