About this listen

On the eve of extinction, all seems to be lost, but there is still one final hope....

Operation Liberty has failed. Humans are losing the war. With no other option, General Kennor decides to pull back the troops and give science a second chance.

Trapped in the extensive sewer system beneath New York, Master Sergeant Reed Beckham and the survivors of First Platoon must battle through the tunnels - where they make a grisly discovery in their attempt to escape.

At Plum Island, Dr. Kate Lovato is working on a new bioweapon to destroy the Variants. But when a derelict Navy destroyer crashes into the Connecticut shoreline, she is forced to deal with a nightmare she thought had ended.

As the doomsday clock ticks down and military bases fall across the country, the human race enters the age of extinction. Will science prevail - or will mankind vanish off the face of the planet?

Another great installment in a fast-paced series

What about Bronson Pinchot’s performance did you like?

Pinchot gives a great performance. I don't give too many five-star ratings for narrators, but Pinchot really delivered.

Any additional comments?

Cheers to Sansbury Smith for an excellent story full of intense action and wild characters.

STILL Can't Breathe!!!

This series has been an amazing thrill ride. Book 3 is the BEST of the series so far, and I cannot wait for the next. I listened to this book straight through and loved every second. That Fitz is still my favorite character!!

Another good addition to the series

I am a big fan of military zombie books and if you like the Stephen Knight books like the Gathering Horde you will love this series of books. Good characters that you will care about and a interesting twist on the genre. you will not be disappointed.

It keeps getting better!

This is my favorite book so far in the EC series. Nicholas Sansbury Smith has a way of tugging at your emotions all the while painting gore and guts in the most beautiful, elegant way. Hang on for a wild ride on this one. The ending made my mouth drop open!!

No, Seriously. Don't Go in There!

First off, let me say that Bronson Pinchot is perfect for this series. He does a wonderful job making each and every character voice different and his pacing is spot on.
On to the book itself. Another fantastic novel by Smith. After reading the first 2 books in the series, I had no idea how the author could top them. Well, it is safe to say that this is the best book in the series thus far. Smith has ramped up the action, suspense, romance and even a little bit of humor to keep all of his fans and yes, even the newbies, happy. I love how the story line is easy to follow and every scenario is different from the previous. Yes, Beckham is consistently charged with taking his team into the thick of it in order to perform some impossible mission, but there is always a new outcome you don't see coming. With twists and turns, violence and gore and love and hate, there is plenty to like in this series. But will you be able to catch your breath? I'll leave it to you to find out. Can't wait to read Book 4: Extinction Evolution!!!!

I can't wait for book 4!

Would you listen to Extinction Age again? Why?

It was an great book and series. I will listen to the series again because it was so good. The action, the characters, how the world leaders can be jerks and they have their own agenda. It seemed as if whenever Beckham thought he had a break, something else would happen! All of it is great.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Beckham and Kate. Beckham because he is a strong leader but you know he cares about people and Kate because she's brilliant but flawed. I do have to say it gets old with her whining about killing so many people. Man up girl, you saved the world!

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't have a favorite. It was all good. No boring parts at all.

Any additional comments?

I cannot wait for book 4. This series is very thoughtful and all of the things that happen, seems as if they could happen in real life.

One of the best zombie books series out there

The story is riveting, full of action, and it makes you never want it to end. Would love to see this in a movie although a movie probably could not capture the story so well.

Love the story - Hate the women’s “voice”

The story is amazing!!! And the way the narrator gives the male characters a voice is really good. BUT, whenever a woman “talks” she sounds like she’s about to cry ALL THE TIME. That’s not how we sound 🤣 I know it’s difficult to give voice to the opposite sex. I just hope this narrator got better over time.

P.S. This story would have sounded so much better with R.C. Bray! (Just my personal opinion and taste 😊)

Just needed a punch

As soon as I met this one character, I just wanted him to get a punch in the face. You'll know exactly who I mean immediately too.

Very good story and satisfying ending. A lot of action and fighting with a lot of depth to the story. Narrator was great.
