4.25/5 Stars Fight the Future, The X-Files Book 7

Genre: scifi/fantasy/paranormal
Summary:
In north Texas, a group of boys stumble across a lot of old bones and something scarier. To cover it up, a mysterious government entity blows up a building. Fox Mulder and Dana Scully get swept up in the mix.

Additional Comments:
- This one is an adaptation of the movie, which I vaguely remember seeing.
- Now I feel like I need to track down this movie.
- The ending seemed abrupt.
- It has all the classic X-Files markings. Mulder’s in trouble. Scully’s in trouble. They end up traveling across the country and then the world several times in the pursuit of elusive truth.
- I do so love the conspiracy aspects, so the mysterious meetings and shady dealings done from posh places is a lot of fun.
- After hearing a lot of scifi and thriller stuff, I always count it a mark in a book’s favor if it can get a visceral reaction from me. That conversation by the Project people still had the chilling power to make my gut clench.

Conclusion:
It’s not as fun as one of the original X-Files stories because I remembered a good chunk of the story. Still, quality scifi stuff.

very faithful to the screenplay

I think the author did a great job adapting the screenplay for a novel.

Mulder gets his evidence

The story is the movie plot. The Narration is not evocative of the characters though well read.

Uncompleted Audiobook

The audiobook ends with like 8 more pages left. So very strange, that’s why I gave it 4 stars.

The end is missing sigh

The end is missing sigh, Would have preferred full cast. Beyond that it is the X-Files.

Sooo Good!

This book was so well written that Hollywood virtually used it as the script for the movie. They basically didn't change a thing. I felt like I had just finished watching the movie. I really enjoy this story.

We need the full cast

The narrator is good at reading the book.

However, I consider that the full cast will do a fantastic performance.

It is the magic behind sound engineering that should be used.

Suspenseful

Overall it was very suspenseful with a lot of action. The narrator was excellent and the storyline moved very well. I would have given it five stars if the ending wasn’t so poor and disappointing.

Last few pages of book missing from audio

Would have rated this 5 stars but last few pages of story were cut out of this audio. Good thing I own the hard copy book or would not have been able to finish completely. How can they tape an audiobook without finishing the ending?

End is missing!

Where's the end of the story? The narration ends about half a chapter too soon!
