Publisher's summary

Justice Weathers has his hands full with the ranch and his twin boys. A widower whose love life is pretty much non-existent and maybe that's for a reason. His family doesn't seem to have much luck with happily-ever-after.

He's not looking for love. Heck, he runs from it.

He might have a bit of running to do. Someone's on her way to Cotton Creek and when she gets there she's gonna stir up a whole lot of feelings he's spent the last three years trying to forget.

Yeah, that bit about nothing ever happening in Cotton Creek? So wrong.

Couple issues w/ this story but still entertaining

Though I liked this book, I must admit that a couple aspects of the book bothered me: #1 - the hero (JD/Dylan) choking the heroine (Jo/Jolene), and #2 - JD/Dyaln cheating on his wife with Jolene on the night his wife kills herself. Honestly, if I were Jolene, there is no way I could end up with JD after knowing that he cheated on his wife (this is a fact that he didn't tell her at the time), and especially not if he put his hands on me in such a violent and cruel way. that being said, despite the way I feel, but I'm usually able to suspend my beliefs/feelings for a well-written book. I've enjoyed all the books I have read in this series (four so far), and this book is no exception. I think it is well-written and filled with interesting characters. And though I couldn't relate to the romance this time, it was still entertaining. I listened to the Audible audio version of this book narrated by J. Scott Bennett. I really love his narrations, and I probably spend more time on him in my reviews than any other narrator. He is really great and just brings the story to life. He gives each character a unique voice, and handles both male and female voices really well so that they don't sound campy. This has earned him the #1 narrator spot in my mind. Overall, if you can get past the two issues I listed earlier in the review, I think you will enjoy this book if you're a fan of western romance.

Inadvertently Chose To Review-Not My Genre

I inadvertently accepted this book in exchange for my review, not realizing that it was the second book in Honky-Tonk Angels. I do not care for PNR. So, ghosts, talking to dead people, etc. are a real stretch for me.

But since I agreed to listen, I did. I am so glad!

The very little paranormal involved, is a curse from generations back & some zoning out on occasion.

Thoroughly enjoyable and completely different than expected from my impression - and a bit confusing without book number one.

I was confused pretty easily with every characters name beginning with the letter J. I don't understand why authors do that, especially JD, Jolene, Justice, Jo, Joe…

With that being said, J. Scott Bennett did an excellent job with narration, once I sorted out who everyone was (Justice Weathers was the father of 2, 18-year-old twinsboys, for example) I was better able to follow along. Bennett gave a performance that was stellar.

If I have the opportunity to listen to the next book in the series, I will.

*I received this work in exchange for my review; good, bad or meh. I've written all 3 kinds.

Good Book-Great Narrator

Finding Justice is a short, contemporary romance with a western feel and southern setting, as well as a slight paranormal element. No cliffhanger. This is book 2 in a series but can easily be a stand-alone, though it will make you want to go back and listen to book 1 and also continue on to see how the rest of these characters fare in future installments. I found the story entertaining and interesting. I wanted to listen all in one sitting. The characters were engaging and believable, and I can't wait for my next visit to Cotton Creek.

The narrator is a true professional. He has a good range of voices and speaks clearly, pronounces words correctly and has a very good feel for what he is reading. He puts the right amount of emotion into every word. His Southern accent is believable and not hokey or over-the-top. The story and the narration reminded me a bit of Kathleen Brooks' Bluegrass series, narrated by Eric G. Dove, which I also liked a lot. Ciana Stone and J. Scott Bennett have a new fan in me, and I will absolutely be spending my cash and credits on audiobooks featuring this author and/or this narrator again in the future.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review. The number of stars I award in the 5-star rating system is based on where I believe this audiobook rates with other audiobooks of the same type, length and general feel-- not where it rates in comparison to all audiobooks of all time.

Love In Time

Justice found love after years of guilt and blaming a woman that only offered him love. It takes a threat to her life for him to realize that he wants and needs more than pain. Love this small Texas town, the people and fun. Love having the audio along with reading the narrator brings the characters to life.

Enjoyable Listen

Narration - J. Scott Bennett - Pretty Good. He's a good narrator with a pleasant voice and several character voices.

I enjoyed this book, although I felt a little bit of a disconnect between the narration and the story - by that I mean that it sounded like it was an 1800's old west story, but the themes and characters were very much modern.

I read reviews on Goodreads that complained about the basic theme of the story and DNF the story because of character actions or storylines that they didn't approve of. Well, I guess that's all a matter of opinion and if something really offends you, it's your right not to go there. BUT, I will say that in finishing the entire book, you get "the rest of the story" as it were. There are two sides to every coin and this book shows both sides - so look at both sides before you judge.

This is a couple that seems to be fated to be together from the moment that they meet and even though they haven't seen each other in three years, the inexplicable draw is still there when they are brought together by her work assignment. There's quite a few characters in this story that are really endearing and fun along with a little bit of a paranormal element. I would have enjoyed a little more back story or detail on that.
Pleasant narration, interesting community and characters contributed to an overall enjoyable listen!

Entertaining!

This second book of the Honky Tonk Angels Series was another entertaining story narrated by J. Scott Bennet. His narration always brings the story to life with his wonderful variety of voices and emotions. I was able to pick this audiobook up on the Free Audiobook Promo Codes site and am voluntarily providing an unbiased review. I enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series. The storyline was well written and the characters were well thought out and developed. I don’t usually like stories with journalists in them as I find they usually like to sensationalize stories at the detriment of those they are reporting on. However Jo was not that type of journalist in this story. She was respectful and caring and I really appreciated that fact. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Enjoyed it!

This is the second book in the series, and it seemed better thought out than the first. There is more depth to the characters and the storyline is most enjoyable! It has romance, cowboys, mystery, cowboys, humor, and did I mention cowboys? What more could a girl ask for? I would like to have a little more background info, but all in all, it was really good. It is a stand alone story without any hated cliffhangers. This is set in the same town as the first, so we get to hear from old friends we met there. Narration is excellent, perfect cowboy drawl! I received this book free or at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review.

JD and Jo in Cotton Creek

I just finished listening to the Audiobook of Finding Justice. I actually read Finding Justice about 3 years ago. Listening to the Audiobook reminds me why I love Ciana Stone’s writing. Her cowboy heroes are swoon-worthy and her heroines are mostly strong independent women. But like us all, flaws are there too. Action, adventure, fun and loving ensue! I love the town of Cotton Creek and its quirky inhabitants! J. Scott Bennett narrated this tome. His voice is a bit husky at times but fits in so well with the story and many of the characters. I really enjoyed his narration.

Great story!

I loved this book! The author does a great job with the telling of this storyline. Her storyline’s keep getting better and better. I definitely recommend this audiobook.
The narrator does a fabulous job with the characters and voices of each character which makes it easy to distinguish between them. He also has a great way of bringing the characters to life. He’s absolutely fabulous to listen to and I definitely recommend all of the books he’s narrated.

Good Read

I am enjoying this series. It's a light not too serious read that passes the miles. I listen to audio books while I drive. The one contention I did have with this one was the author's license with Triple Crown winners. Although I realize authors play with facts saying this person who must be 30ish to 40ish had owned two Triple Crown winners was pushing it. 😊 😊
