About this listen

In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless.

Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

As the System’s Descent draws near, Drew scrambles to prep supplies, fortify his home, and drag his elderly, TV-addicted mother away from her ‘shows’ long enough to listen to him. With monsters knocking at the door, how far is Drew willing to go to save those closest to him?

The dead rise to combat the encroaching darkness as Drew Wright taps into the only power that might save his loved ones—becoming Earth’s first Necromancer.

Great story

I really enjoyed this book, its fun. I'm a bit biased because I love necromancers. Definitely gunna pick up the next one.

Though I definitely feel like the story has a few loose ends but Im sure they'll get wrapped up in the next book.

I kinda wish the MC enjoyed combat more but its probably more realistic that he doesn't.

I don't quite get why some guns work and some don't as most guns all work on the same principles so a lever action and a AR aren't really all that different when it comes to striking a bullet. They are definitely on different levels but the basic function is the same when it comes to hitting a striker to fire a bullet. I can look past that though because its a fun story. Thats really my only gripe with the book.

Looking forward to book 2

easy to follow with a unique protagonists and realistic decision making without the main character making huge leaps of logic.

awesome older MC

This was a great first book and I really love that the MC is older and so family oriented. He is not full murder hobo and I feel like it really adds to the story. Not only is the MC awesome but the author does a great job making all the side characters important and fleshed out. needless to say I'm excited for the next one!

Give the is a chance

I got this on a whim, and I am not disappointed at all. I had no expectations at all but I found myself loving all the characters. I love the MC being a necro. I love how there are elements of to building and also LitRPG. I greatly enjoy how it’s not death by stat screens either.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This had me listening to it almost straight through it was so good and has comedy at amazing moments too. “Rearrange my guts witch boy” had me literally spitting my drink out.

First Necromancer on Earth!

Excellent story and narration! Good character development. Realistic look at what would happen if an event gave everyone on earth fantasy type classes and monsters started appearing. Very well done. Interesting take on the Necromancer class. Looking forward to the next book!

Really good

Was not expecting to like this as much as I did. It has some dry moments but overall I really loved it.

Clash of Religions!

This book is a really good time over all! There are of course things people won't like or agree with and that's okay. I feel the flaws made this book feel more alive, plausible. I really enjoyed Drew as a MC simply because he has flaws but he knows that and is able to recognize that he needs the people around him. I recommend this heavily

I. Want. More!

I really enjoyed this one. The main character gets a week's heads-up to the apocalypse, but instead of warning humanity, he focuses on prepping for it because he has no faith anyone would listen to him. Worse yet, he believes the government would lock him away as a research specimen. Talk about a pessimistic outlook—which, I agreed with, lol

If I had one complaint, it's that the end of the book fell off a bit for me, though it was still fascinating enough that I want to see what happens next.
