Captivating

The performance of Fitzgerald‘s short stories is captivating. Each short story leaves room for wondering and speculating after the conclusion.

Awesome collection of All-American stories

Great narration that is easy to understand and not too distracting from the written word, both narrators do an excellent job of painting the picture that the stories depict. The prose is heavily English while also delivering in the straight-forward American style.

excellent short stories.

Bernice Bobs Her Hair and Head & Shoulders both will surprise & delight you. I couldn't tolerate the terrible accents in Benjamin Button and had to skip it.

Five Great Stories!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you are going on an hour long car ride, and want

What did you like best about this story?

Short, to the point. Fast paced and good for teens. My least favorite was Dalyrimple Goes Wrong, but even that has caused discussion in the house, and stuck in my head.

What about Stephen R. Thorne and Bronson Pinchot ’s performance did you like?

These are very good intelligible reads. A good pace is set with Pinchot, and he reads it very well. There are also NO Balki impersonations.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Bernice Bobs her Hair will remain a classic in our house. If you like movies like Mean Girls, you will love this story. If you love your Dear Heart, you will love Head and Shoulders (Well, most of it :-D)

Any additional comments?

One of my Daughters read 2 of these at school, and was moving on to The Great Gatsby. I like to read what the kids are reading, So I grabbed this and Gatsby. I am glad I read this first. Gatsby was not my cup of tea, but these stories are fantastic.

Everything you love about Fitzgerald OR a good introduction if haven’t read him.

The stories start with Bernice Bobs her Hair a story which paints a graphic mental image of Jazz Era upper middle class mores & taboos. The sincere folly of it all. Fitzgerald uses the written word live a smartphone video. The stories chosen for this short volume are a good sampling of Fitzgerald’s insight into human behaviour & the times in which he lived.
Bronson Pinchot’a narration is perfection. I looked for other books narriated by cousin Balki (yes that Bronson Pinchot). His narrative style reveals the stories. Unlike some narrators who over power the authors written word with a vocal performance.

Who am I to critique F. S. Fitzgerald; Pinchot’s narration will greatly add to your enjoyment of the short stories.

Five wonderfully written short stories by Fitzgerald. A couple of them think outside the box. Highly recommend.

Well read; interesting selections

The readers on this are excellent — bring Fitzgerald’s perfect prose to life. I’ve never loved Benjamin Button, but the other four stories were excellent.
