Publisher's summary

I'll Give You the Sun meets Lola and the Boy Next Door...in Italy. Swoon laugh and cry with this irresistible, insightful, Italian YA romance.

Italy, the 90s. Teen bookish tomboy Leda is torn between handsome, loyal Alex and her long-term feelings for childhood friend Nico, who's dark and unreliable.

While Leda navigates through puberty, her parents' separation, and high school, her friendships develop in unpredictable ways. Both sweet Alex and hurtful Nico are hiding secrets that she will have to unravel to make sense of her own feelings and the infuriating, sizzling chemistry with her old friend turned enemy....

As always, Amman's unique mix of humor and empathy makes it impossible to stop listening, as she skillfully intertwines the stories of many teens struggling with loneliness, angst and, of course, love. Her vivid descriptions of Cinque Terre, Sardinia, and the Alps can only add to the irresistible charm of this intriguing romance.

Finally Nico!

Would you consider the audio edition of Forget Nico - Falling for the Wrong Italian to be better than the print version?

I think that the audiobook completes the printed version of the book. It's a really new way to experience the story in a deeper and enjoyable way.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Okay, this is difficult because there is THE protagonist, Leda, that I like, but this is also a choral telling which involves a lot Leda's friends and their stories too. Anyway, I loved Leda and Nico, naturally. Why? Because they are so different and so alike at the same time. They were so in the denial about what they felt for each other and I could felt how they fought their strong attraction and I liked their journey to this point in the series.

What about Gaia B. Amman’s performance did you like?

Well, she's the author, so no one knows her charactes like she does and that was the best part – she turning to life her so different characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Finally Nico!

Any additional comments?

I didn't give 5 stars to the story because even if I liked the entire process it's not clear to me where it started and how it ended.

Italy, romance, humor and lots of insights!

What made the experience of listening to Forget Nico - Falling for the Wrong Italian the most enjoyable?

It's funny, it's sad. It makes you feel what the characters feel and you learn so much!! About Italy, life, yourself...This book was amazing. I got so addicted to this series and now that the characters are older it's getting sexier...very excited for the book!

What other book might you compare Forget Nico - Falling for the Wrong Italian to and why?

I don't know. It's a romance, but it's not cheesy. There's a lot of thought put into how hard is to be a teen. I could really relate. Maybe Lola and the boy next door, but deeper, funnier, and more exotic.

Have you listened to any of Gaia B. Amman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. I love the way she reads. She's one of the best narrators I've heard. She acts the book but doesn't overdo it. The Italian accent is a huge perk.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

OMG YES!!! I COULD NOT STOP.

Any additional comments?

My new favorite. Awesome.
