Publisher's summary

Bad news comes in...fours? For romance author and former pool shark Jessie Hewitt it does. She hasn't written a decent sex scene in months, she hasn't shot a decent game of eight ball all year, and don't even ask about her supposed love life. And just when Jessie thinks things can't get any worse, a body lands on her car. Uber-hunky and altogether infuriating cop Wilson Rye suggests she concentrate on solving her other problems and leave the murder investigation to the experts. But does Jessie agree? Take a guess.

Another Great Read!

What made the experience of listening to Four Play the most enjoyable?

The writers sense of humor & the narrator's delivery of this story made it very enjoyable!

What did you like best about this story?

I love all the tongue twisters & P words used in this book. I love how trouble always finds Jessica like a magnet! I love her witty mother too. Then there is Wilson, her fiance - what a great guy. I mostly loved how while reading this book, we get to read about Jessica writing books of her own as Adeleigh.

Have you listened to any of Caroline Miller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and she ranks up there with the best! Caroline always delivers a perfect performance. I love all the excitement she delivers and the multiples of voices!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

As always with all the books by Cindy Blackburn, while they are mysteries - they are also hilarious. This writer is always so witty & clever in her stories. Wilson's favorite saying is "you're scary"!

Any additional comments?

I just adore this writers books! A tremendous sense of humor while delivering a mystery. Always exciting, always an adventure & always very well explained! More than anything, I love how the same narrator is used in the series as it's a voice we get used to hearing & love! The narrator does a superb job in her delivery of this story as she always does.

A Fun Mystery

I love this series and can't wait for more books! This is a fun cozy mystery with a little humor and romance mixed in. I feel like I live in the same building as these characters. The author does a wonderful job with all of these characters, they all have their own personality and quirkiness. I love the humor that is mixed in with all of these mysteries. I'm not a fan of romance novels, but the little bit of romance mixed in works perfect with the story!

Caroline brings the characters to life!! She did another awesome job with the narration!!

I'm looking forward to more books in this series and more books narrated by Caroline!

Another Cue Ball mystery ...

Any additional comments?

Four Play is the 4th book in the Cue Ball Mystery series. Our leading lady Jessie is caught again in the middle of a murder mystery. Jessie lends her car to a young neighbor to take his date to the Junior Dance. Little does she know that hours later a dead body will be on top of the car. Homicide Captain Rye (who is Jessie's fiance) wants to keep her out of the investigation, but as usual she just can't do it. With the help of her neighbors Candy, Karen and Peter, Jessie sets out to solve the murder.

I enjoyed this book very much. This is a mystery that is well thought out by Ms. Blackburn. Ms. Miller's narration is spot on and seamless from the previous 2 books. Ms. Miller's attention to detail in creating each character's voice draws you into the story.

I would recommend this book to my friends who like a good solid mystery. This book is appropriate for listeners 15+ years and older.

When Jessie Hewitt meets sexy cop Wilson Rye her life takes a turn -She's struggles with writers block and when a body lands on her car - Jessie and Wilson don't see eye to eye on how to investigate -
This is a cute who-done-it murder mystery - not to be mistaken for I can't stop crying I laughed so hard -

Funny mystery story

Any additional comments?

Mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. The neighbors within a condo building join forces to find justice when one of their own is accused of murder. Make that two of their own:
First a nationally renowned romance author is accused of the crime, the deceased having died upon her sofa. Of course, that gets the local yokel pain in the backside reporter on the rampage, hoping ultimately to end up with a national gig out of the situation…so much so that he relentlessly pursues her guilt in his reporting. Even after the deceased' s girlfriend and heir, also a resident of the same condo & close friend of the originally accused. So the neighbors continue attempting to learn the identity of the true murderer. There's no way such a deed could be done by one of their own… Or could it???

Fun listen.

Easy and funny cozy mystery. I enjoyed it although some of it seemed unlikely to ever happen.
