When it comes to relaxing and resting the body, most people do this quite well. However, when it comes to relaxing the mind, many individuals struggle and cannot seem to give the mind the relaxation it needs.

Many individuals think that meditating is something only Buddhist monks do. Others see it as some artsy-fartsy marketing scam or, even worse, something reserved for hippies blown away on drugs. To meditate is to observe thoughts and feelings without judging them, says John Kabat-Zinn. Meditation could be like a gymnasium where we train to let thoughts and feelings pass without clinging to them, a bit like "opening ourselves to life" without pretending anything and also without doing or observing anything else. The moment we realize that we have become hooked on a thought and we refocus, we are meditating. In fact, the Tibetans called the place where they meditated gompa, which means nothing other than "training room".

To meditate is to put your mind in the same place as your feet. If you understand that every time you bring your mind to the present, you inhabit your body, you are no longer on autopilot; you are meditating. You will see that meditating, in essence, does not take time. Meditation has become common to many people. Even people working for Google have their daily meditation space to improve creativity, humor, performance, and group connection.

For someone who is new to the meditation space, desiring peace, relaxation, and clarity...listening to a guided meditation is the best thing you can do for a beginner.

So, make sure you have got yourself a nice pair of headphones or earphones, tuck yourself into bed, close your eyes, and prepare for a new world of relaxation.

Fantastic mental exercises!

This is a great book. I had the book specialized so it's easy to make copies for my clients. The book is nicely arranged. I recommend this book.

It is very well explained and right to the point.

The book introduces you to these skills, explains why they are useful and provides instruction on how to develop them. This book is a must for the average technician or professional that wants to progress up the ladder of success or learn how to connect with people better.

Try all of them!

This is an impressive bundle of meditations. They are simple, but I felt very relaxed after every one of them. I don't do them all at once, that's too much for me. I space them out one per day in the morning. This works best for me and makes this a great long term investment for one credit!

Fantastic Results

What a great book, I have been doing meditation for about six months now and have just started incorporated this book into my meditation routine, the results have been amazing. Listening to part of this in the morning makes me full of energy and ready for the day.

Excellent listen audiobook

Incredible book of Practical Meditation for Beginners. It is anything but difficult to pursue and straightforward. I would prescribe it to everybody needing to have a straightforward method to ruminate without intricacies. Much obliged.

very helpful one-step-at-a-time guide

Truly a fantastic book with lots of great insights and golden nuggets for how to make small but powerful changes. I loved it and live by what I have learned. If you want to uplevel your life but don’t know how to start, this is for you.

Excellent to use for sleep

For me trying to sleep is very difficult, my mind races and goes over everything from that day. My sister is into meditation and told me about this book. The falling to sleep issue is resolving itself and I am being able to clear my mind a lot easier.
