About this listen

I'm not all that special, really. I'm sure there are a lot of girls with old gypsy blood who see the dead, have killer cults hunting their family, and turn into something that gets scary when they panic. Yep. I'm just an ordinary girl. I wish people would believe that.

I've been labeled as one thing or another for most of my life: Death Girl. Crazy Gypsy Girl. Gothic Chick. Monster.

It took my mother's death for me to finally start getting answers about what's really been going on. Unfortunately, most of the answers come from men . . . who aren't just men. Somehow, I've gone and landed myself in a world truly filled with monsters, and I'm starting to think this is where I should have been all along.

Only . . . I don't understand what's going on. I'm walking into the middle of a story that's thousands of years old, and I'm the new girl on the block who doesn't have a clue how this world even works. My only guides happen to be the most lethal of the bunch.

I've gone and drawn attention to myself, and the ones paying attention are the ones everyone else seems to fear. How do these things always happen to me?

Contains mature themes.

Phenomenal

I absolutely LOVED this audio book. The performance was extremely well done and was very pleasantly surprised as this is the first audiobook that I am aware of by Kristy Cunning. I was amazed at how the narrators captured the tone of what the characters were feeling. I am extremely excited about being able to listen to the other books that this author has come out with as I will probably end up getting them all!

Fun, even if it lacks polish

I agree with a previous reviewer who said some of the flaws in this self-published book become more obvious when read aloud. However, I still enjoyed the audiobook.

The woman narrator's voice reminds me of Mandy Moore. The male narrator sounds, at times, like Orlando Bloom mixed with Crawley from Supernatural. I think they both had interesting performances.

The male narrator has some really good spots but can be inconsistent in delivery. To me, this seems like a directing issue, as someone overseeing the recording session should have. Definitely. Noticed. The. Pauses. I don't know, production just seems really rushed, I guess.

I must have binged the first two of these books when I read them because I don't remember the ending being so abrupt. Also, I expected more information and back story than Cunning actually gives in this book.

I would recommend bundling the series as 2-in-1s to really hook the audience because I'm not sure if I'd get book 2 if I hadn't already read most of the series.

I do recommend people continue if they're on the fence. You will find out what Violet's power is and how the immortals all got cursed. And Anna's fate. And more on Violet's family. There are some seriously twisted bombs that get dropped.

loved it

really good reverse harem. Awesome story not all about sex. I would refer this to a friend. And a really different set up for the whole werewolf and vampire an other bumps in the night. very surprising. I really really hope there are way more books to come. the narrator is really good too the only downside to this whole audio book series is the female voice is bright chipper, you can actually hear it but when it comes to the male voice you actually have to cut your headset up to hear them a lot clearer than the female side.

Perfect combo of funny and hot!

This is my fifth time listening to this series, I love it! Narration brings out the hilarity woven into the Violets story! If you want to laugh out loud, tear up, and get sucked into the world of these sexy alfas you will love this series.

These two Narrator's performance together was the best I have ever heard. Mallisa Moran has they story telling range to let you live the story. Shaun Grindell doesn't hurt any story where a sexy voice is required. And Kristy Cunning creates a leading lady that relates to all is dorky girls with a devilish side. Well done by you all, PLEASE continue the story so we can find the box maker!

Gypsies, ghosts and Monsters!

If you are a fan of PNR then this book is for you! Violet the MFC is fantastic and relatable, friends a ghost and moves to a town full of Monsters. If you are looking for a different story but want some laughs this is it!

Weird accents but GREAT STORY!

The female narrator couldn’t quite get the right accent for some of the men and it just came off weird and like they were little kids or something. But I loved the story and the plot is great I’m definitely listening to the rest!!

It would’ve been Great if...

This book was REALLY good but the male narrator, Shaun Grindell, killed it for me. His narration was awful!!! It would’ve been 10x’s better if Melissa Moran read the whole book. His narration was choppy and boring. He gave no emotion or distinctive voices to each character.
Now I’m debating of purchasing the next book in the series since it looks like he’s still narrating😐.
