About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Kristen Proby returns to tales beyond the natural and normal with her brand-new, captivating paranormal romance series that is sure to capture your heart and make you believe in magic.

Returning to her beloved home of Salem after a trip away, Lucy Finch can’t shake the feeling of anxiety that suddenly plagues her. Nor can she shrug off her third eye’s urging that she has a mission she must undertake—a secret she must uncover.

As a green witch, Lucy has always felt strongest and the most at home in the forest, surrounded by nature. But when a disturbing dream wakes her and sends her fleeing into the woods, she isn’t prepared for what she finds. She expected her element. Perhaps a message from spirit. She didn’t expect to cross paths with a sexy-as-sin man straight out of a movie scene.

Jonas Morley isn’t like the other residents of Hallows End. He knows the town’s secrets, as well as Salem’s, and it has been his honor and duty to protect them for as long as he can remember. But the gorgeous witch who graces the town’s hidden border shakes him and makes him second-guess his directive. She calls to him like no other. But can he save his home and those under his care and still make her his? Or will their union mean danger and destruction for not only them but also those who live within the town’s borders?

Curses don’t discriminate, and the curse of the blood moon is the most determined and dangerous of all.

Hallows End is the first book in the Curse of the Blood Moon series.

Loved it but..

To be honest, I’ve heard Sebastian York play so many dominant sex happy men, his voice threw me out if the plot when he spoke. Sorry, Sebastian!

Story good, narration not so much

This is a book that is narrated by two people, not in the usual way, the male voice doing the male character and the female voice doing the female characters, but each narrator does alternating chapters. It is a true jolt at the beginning of each chapter to try to once again figure out the different characters by the new narrator. The male voice was a deep robust voice, then switch to the female narrator and she has a light high voice and does male characters very poorly. It made it very difficult to tell who was supposed to be talking. I think this way of narrating is very confusing and detracts from the story line, reading would be highly preferable to listening this way.

Fantastic start to a new series!!

After meeting Lucy in the Bayou Magic series, I knew that I would have to read her story!!

Kristen Proby's brand-new Curse of the Blood Moon series follows Lucy, a green witch as she returns home from fighting one of the worst forces she has ever seen. Back home in Salem Lucy is still uneasy and she can't figure out why. After waking from a terrible nightmare Lucy flees to the forest, a place she has always felt at peace. She never expected to see a man that calls to every part of her, but the problem is she has no idea who he is.

Jonas has lived with secrets far longer than anyone should have to. He holds all the secrets to the town he has called home for as long as he can remember, Hallows End. One night he comes across a witch who might just hold all the secrets to Jonas himself and with those answers he might be able to help the people of Hallows End before it is too late.

I was going to just read this series but when I found out Sebastian York was narrating, I knew I had to do the audiobook. I have never seen Sebastian do a paranormal or fantasy book. Not that he hasn't I just haven't seen it. He did such a good job with Jonas even with the spells. That man really is a unicorn. Samantha Brentmoor is a newish to me narrator, but I loved her narration so much. She gave a beautiful portrayal of a witch desperate to do anything she can to save those that she loves.

Kristen Proby's paranormal books are some of my favorites. They have a delicious mix of the paranormal with that touch of sexy that has me wanting the story to never end. We have just started to see what is going to happen between Salem and Hallows End and I can't wait for the next installment!!

One of my favorite books of 2022

If I could read this book over and over again I would be happy. Have you ever begun a series and just knew that it was going to be something special? The Curse of the Blood Moon is going to be just that.
I've lost count of how many times I have read this book already. Goodreads says 3 times, but I know there was another audio listen in there somewhere too. Sebastian York just was Jonas. 100% perfect narration.
Kristen PNR trilogies are everything and more. She has a true talent for the paranormal. I am so intrigued by Hallows End. The town and the story surrounding it is so good. The first time I read this book I couldn't read it fast enough. It's all so blended seamlessly. The bonds between the cousins are truly beautiful as well as their relationships. OMG the romance here I mean how great is the instant attraction between Lucy and Jonas. It's truly magical.

The Witchy Story I Needed This Season

This is the witchy romance I needed this spooky season! Lucy is a witch who lives in Salem, along with her cousins who are more like sisters. Jonas is a witch from 1692 who lives in town locked in a time bubble. This story is a bit of a spin off from Kristen Proby's Bayou Magic series. The whole book has Salem, Practical Magic, witchy vibes and I absolutely loved it. I am always looking for stories that give me that vibe and this one was perfection! There is an underlying paranormal suspense storyline that had me on edge the whole book. This is a true stand alone romance, but the suspense storyline will carry throughout the series. I could not put it down and can not wait for the next book in this series.

I listened to the audiobook during a reread and Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York were perfect for these characters. I was immediately drawn into the story and their tone and inflection gave me everything I needed and wanted.

Perfect spooky read

I like to read stories about witches, ghosts, hauntings around Halloween time. I was thrilled that this trilogy was all ready for me to devour! I couldn't listen fast enough and listened to all 3 books so I could see how it ends. Great story telling that had me holding on to the very end.

Hallows End is Lucy and Jonas' story. Jonas is able to come between worlds and is hundreds of years old. Lucy meets him when he uses her back yard to go through to his world. These two were so sweet. They shared an instalove that gave them power to take on the evil surrounding them.

This story also lays the groundwork for Hallow's End and what Lucy and her cousins must do to help Jonas.

Great story loved it!

The narrators did a great job and I couldn't wait to get to book 2!
