About this listen
Imagine what a difference in your life it might make if you had the ability to distinguish the truth from beliefs that are commonly held but untrue. According to best-selling authors and relationship counselors Linda and Charlie Bloom, accepting certain commonly held beliefs such as, "Couples with great relationships don't fight", or "Little things aren't worth getting upset over", and "If my partner were more like me, we would have a better relationship" can prevent you from building a solid, mutually fulfilling partnership. This book offers compelling stories and valuable suggestions for distinguishing truth from fiction and helps listeners to recognize myths and avoid falling into the trap of believing everything that you think!
Happily Ever After...and 39 Other Myths About Love provides you with communication guidelines and tools that will enhance and strengthen your ability to avoid many of the pitfalls that so many couples experience when they mistakenly accept widely held opinions that are masking as "truths".

An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

Blindsided by a breakup, and asking herself the usual why, how, what questions, Tatiana Jerome went online. She used social media as a way to uplift and empower herself by venting but also working through her own part in the relationship's demise. Her posts struck a chord with thousands and then hundreds of thousands of readers - no surprise since most relationships (approximately 85 percent) end.

Listen to this audiobook many times
So many myths about love are likely to be etched into our thinking as truths. The authors expose them and counter harmful misconceptions. To improve any relationship, listen again and again to this audiobook. That's how to change longstanding habits by relearning new ones, including changing entrenched beliefs about love that mess us up when they negatively influence our feelings and behaviors.
Linda and Charlie Bloom do a terrific job citing the myths and replacing each one with a healthier and more accurate truth about love.

Never a Better Time for this Book!
Some myths were eye openers, and some are things I needed to be reminded about over and over. As usual, Linda and Charlie Bloom bring their practical experience and their incredible insights to this book. It's part of what makes them stand out among the many relationship coaches today. They didn't get any of this from a book, they've lived it. This is an easy listen, both because of the information and the way it's recorded. I highly recommend!

Brillant Contribution to Realtionship Self-Help
Linda and Charlie share decades of wisdom gleaned from personal experiences as well as their work with hundreds of couples. What I love about this book is that it is not preachy; there are no “shoulds” or “could haves’. It is all about starting wherever we are at in our relationship and growing it from there. It is fiercely optimistic about our ability to improve our relationship, while being solidly realistic about the skills needed to connect authentically and maintain a relationship that works for both partners.

Reads like an artful scientific study of relationships
I am not a reader of relationship focused non-fiction. The Bloom’s Happily Ever After book did not change my mind about the genre, but I am glad I read it as it is full of wisdom. I marveled at the depth of scrutiny at an almost molecular level each of the myths was written. The Personal examples and life stories of others brought each point home. I kept likening the detailed descriptions to viewing an element of a myth under a microscope, but artfully written. The narrator could not have been better, reading with perfect tone and pitch with empathy and emphasis. Kudos to Linda and Charlie Bloom. I will share and recommend this book for sure.
