Publisher's summary

Gabe Sterling and Danny “Murder” Murdoch carry heavy baggage from the past and have no real reason to be drawn to each other. When they find themselves in an odd sort of friendship, both men are interested in more, but neither thought love was going to be part of the deal.

With a younger nurse who has an affinity for lace and an older mechanic with a tough reputation, Hearts Aflame is a steamy, friends-to-lovers, opposites attract, gay romance.

This is the third book in the Forged in the City series.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Steamy & Heartfelt!

I have been loving this awesome series, it is enjoyable, entertaining and contains a whole lot of heart. A.D. Ellis is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style and creative mind, the characters and their stories are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Each book in the series features a different couple, from when they first meet and get to know each other to their growing relationship and love. This is Gabe Sterling and Danny “Murder” Murdoch’s story. Danny is a mechanic Whitfield’s Motorcycles and Gabe a nurse who winds up renting the apartment above the shop. Danny is quiet and keeps to himself, Gabe is the complete opposite, he is a motor mouth and just keeps going. The two hit it off right from the start and it does not take Danny long to figure out how to quiet Gabe, LOL. I loved these two together, both have some issues and history but l liked how it is handled and how excepting they were of each other, also liked Gabe’s connection to the Silvers. This book is beautifully plotted, the story flows nicely and there is never a dull moment. There is drama, a touch of angst, a nice twist with the Silvers, plenty of heartfelt and emotional moment and some hot romance. It was great to see some of the characters from the first two books too. A.D. Ellis, thank you for another fantastic novel!

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Bob Brill is a talented narrator and voice artist. He does an awesome job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. I love how he takes a character and makes it his own, playing the role with perfection and sounding just as I picture them to sound. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen🎧

emotional listen

The last book in the series does not disappoint, and is just as heartwarming as the other 2, but more emotional for me. Healing love overcomes past baggage for both men.I loved seeing the trust and love help bond the two. I enjoyed the pop ups of past characters. I love loved Danny and Gabe's talk to dad. Powerful. I enjoyed listening to all three books and seeing them chose their families and love. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did an exceptional job.

Sweet, opposites attract, friends to lovers romance!

This is the final book in the Forged in the city series and I'm not ready for it to end yet. This series is absolutely brilliant!
Gabe and Danny were absolutely adorable and I loved their friendship.
The author's writing as always was fluid and easy to read. The entire world building for this series is fantastic. Bob Brill did an amazing audio delivery as usual.

If you like a sweet friends to lovers, opposites attract romance, low on the angst and with all the feels this is for you.

I absolutely adored Hearts Aflame

Hearts Aflame by A.D. Ellis, and narrated by Bob Brill was an amazing story about two men who came from troubled backgrounds. Much like all of A.D. Ellis's books, the story was well written, the world was well developed and the characters had so much depth that it was unbelievable!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

As for the narration, I'm quite picky about what books I listen to. The narrator has to keep my interest as much as the author does otherwise I give up on it quickly. Bob Brill is one of those Narrators that I've fallen in love with while listening to the Forged in the City series.

I highly recommend this series, author and narrator.

Enchanting and Emotional Love Story

The only thing wrong with this book is that it is the last book in this amazing series. As for the book, I absolutely loved it. Take one constant talker add a quiet introvert and you get a couple meant for each other. Gabe is the first person to really get to know Danny. The others just thought he was a loner. Both men have had troubled pasts. It is so refreshing and endearing to watch their instant chemistry grow into love. They not only find each other, they find a family that they never expected. There will be plenty of laugh out loud moments, especially with cats. I also love that we get to revisit with wonderful friends from previous stories.

Bob Brill does an amazing job of portraying the emotions and personalities of these characters. His voice brings them to life as he paints a vivid image of them with his voice. The characters have distinctive voices as you would want them to have.

I highly recommend this Audible book. A. D. Ellis has given us a wonderful book family to love and cherish.it's hard to see friends leave but I will revisit them as I listen to these books again.

Last of this Series

This is book 3 of Forged in the City but really it is book 6 if you count the Silver in the City trio as well.

This was my favourite pairing by far. I adored Gabe and his outlook on life and his nervous chatter. Danny is the strong quiet type and the two together were just fabulous. I want a relationship like this one. This was a great listen.
