Crazy Ride

There are so many triggers if you are the type that needs to be warned ahead of time. Drugs, cheating, abuse, violence, gaslighting, rape, and much more.

I thought it was strange that the narrator mispronounced a lot of words. I’m not familiar with any other works by this narrator, so English might not be her first language? It was a little distracting.

Hoping my thoughts aren’t spoilers, but I didn’t like any of these characters. None of them seemed to have redeeming qualities. None of them could tell the truth about anything or be faithful. In one breath they would say “I love you” and the next would be “I hate you, leave now” and then “why did you leave me?” Everyone was bipolar. It was giving me whiplash.

Even though this was a box set, it’s still not complete. I don’t think I can keep going, though. I don’t feel the need to get more invested in these characters. The main characters form the love triangle, but there’s so many different people intertwined and it can be confusing at times. If you want to ride this crazy train of a story, good luck staying the course. I’ve seen mixed reviews and see that people either love it or hate it.

I’m sure it was an exciting listen, just not for me.

I should have researched the box set before accepting the U.S. code. Thank you, Karen Lynn! So that was my fault. My favorite genre is detective murder mysteries, both U.K. and U.S. Narration by Claire Riley is well-done, however the plot never grabbed my attention. I apologize to the author for not doing my homework before accepting a code. I’ve learned an important lesson.

I don't know how to review this

I am not a writer but am an amateur editor and avid reader. I'm still listening to this trilogy and I honestly can't wait for it to be over. The narration is good and bad. Easy to listen to and does a decent job of distinguishing between characters but the cursing and exclamations will make you laugh out loud, and not with it but at it. Reading the book would definitely be different so I recommend reading and not listening to this one. Also her pronunciation of certain words had me gobsmacked.

This is not a thriller, there's a lot of made up angst and the characters are so intense all the time but that doesn't make it a thriller. The story is interesting but I found the transitions between scenes to be weird or non-existent. All of a sudden you're somewhere else and it just felt awkward.

I've never wanted a book to be over faster. The main character is infuriating - she's weak and panicky. She can't deal with anything. The main characters that are men are ridiculous. I also realized through the second book that I didn't have a good idea in my mind of what the characters looked like. Again, the story is interesting and different than most novels of this type but it still seems disjointed and odd the way it's told.

The main characters don't deal with anything really well and so much is "overwhelming" and nothing they seem to do makes sense. I've got a little over 3 hours until I'm done and I can't wait for the intensity to end. The characters are obsessed with each other and it's exhausting to be honest. I hope that all this is because I'm not much of a romantic. But the characters were constantly upset with one another because they weren't calling each other and hadn't heard from each other. That got old really quickly. They're always irritated and snipey with each other as well for seemingly no reason.

I was given a free code for this trilogy in exchange for an honest review.

Just okay!💜

This story will take you on an emotional roller coaster you will likely never forget! Great storyline but IMO too long with no HEA.
The narrator has a great voice that’s loaded with emotion. That being said at times it was a little difficult to distinguish between characters.
This story was not for me but I know many have enjoyed it. This is only my opinion and I encourage you form your own opinions.
This is for books 1-3 (box set) that continues on to book 4.

Not my cuppa

So I love a good Dark Romantic Suspense trope but I'm not sure this series fits the bill for me. The books are basically a love triangle of cheating (lots), drugs (lots), abuse (lots) and the heroine's golden snatch (eye roll).
The series basically starts off with the heroine being pimp'd out by her husband than in the morning with an bruised face, meeting up with another man she met earlier and having a fast and loose love affair while her husband leaves for a business trip and has his own affair, all the while all the men say how much they love her while using and abusing her for their own reason.
First let me just say, for me, I need a hook or emotional hook to keep me going in a book but especially in a series, sadly I just couldn't find one in the characters or story and because of this I had a hard time continuing on through the books. For that matter even caring about anything that happened.
The narrator kept the same tone for a lot of the characters so it was hard to tell which characters were on stage. Also I had a problem with the head voices of the individual characters. They were just written inconsistently. Lastly be warned, this series isn't finished and ends on a cliffy. To sum it up after 3 books, it's a group of disfunctional people f**king and fighting, saying and doing ugly things and lying about everything. I personally did not find any suspense, erotica or romance in the series.
But with that being said, people seem to like it from the reviews, so I'm in the minority here, thus 3 stars. It's probably me, not you.

Each book gets better and better.

If you like a story of manipulation, mind games, struggle for control, murder and a whole lot of drama this story is for you. The story heats up in books two, it got so I didn’t want to stop listening. Book 3 didn’t disappoint me.
The narrator Calire Riley does a wonderful job with each character having their own recognisable voice.
I cannot recommend this book enough. I thoroughly enjoyed it

So many mixed feelings

I’ve never had so many mixed feelings about a book–or here a series of books.

I wasn’t put off by the fact that it ended with a cliffhanger since I knew it did. Just know that this series still continues. Next book should be available soon, as told by the author.

It wasn’t badly written. The changes of point of view–especially when the chapter was about two characters and the point of view kept changing between the two–wasn’t always well done, but I usually knew which head I was in. The story was correctly paced, and some of the intrigues were interesting.

Just, it wasn’t my thing. Too much drama, most of it could have been avoided if the characters stopped and thought before doing stupid things–like cheating on their partner for the umpteenth time, or lying to each other. Afterward, they kept asking why their life was such a mess. Well, maybe because you make it so? I can sympathize with characters who make mistakes–who doesn’t in real life–but that many? I ended up despising them; none of them felt redeemable to me. I kept listening just to enjoy the trainwreck.

As for the narration, it wasn’t exactly bad. The voice was agreeable, and the narrator gave life to the dialogues. But what really put me off were the many times they ‘finished’ a sentence on a low note, only to go again because the sentence wasn’t actually finished! Sometimes, it separated two words that went together and changed the meaning of the sentence. Quite annoying.

So if you enjoy a lot of drama, and dark romance, please go ahead! You’ll be pleased.

Such A Rollercoaster Ride

This series of books is by a new author for me and it's also a different genre from what I normally enjoy. I do enjoy dark romance and I also enjoy stories involving more than one partner what I normally don't enjoy is anything to do with cheating or infidelity. That said I could not stop listening to these books as the author took me on an emotionally draining roller-coaster ride along with the characters.

The author did an amazing job of bringing these characters to life, you can relate to the characters, you may not always like them but you can definitely relate. Krissy in particular is one of those people who although you don't know her you will definitely know someone like her.

I liked how each book made me feel so many different emotions, sometimes I wanted to bang their heads together, others I wanted to scream at the characters. At times I hated them which just goes to show how well defined they were by the author, how real they felt. Would I choose them as friends - NO! But were they interesting - YES!

The author has given us a series where not everything is perfect, the characters are certainly not perfect so don't expect them to be. As I've said I wouldn't choose any one of them as a friend and I didn't always agree with what they were doing but that didn't stop me from becoming totally immersed in their story.

I had to force myself to remember that no one is innocent or perfect and that everyone has some darkness within them but that shouldn't mean that they don't deserve love or that they shouldn't have a chance at forgiveness. Krissy didn't always do the smart thing or make the right choices but it's not for us to judge her.

All the characters Kristen, Jake and Logan have their own issues and demons to be worked through all are imperfect but all are interesting as we go along with them on their journey to work through them and work things out. The author did a great job creating their story told from all three perspectives which kept me listening to this is Roller-Coaster, I was left feeling drained but glad I had listened.

The narration of the book by Claire Riley was well done.
