Publisher's summary

Holly Ross often wishes she lived in a simpler time, when the clothes were glamorous, the men debonair, and the endings happy.

That said, her career as a fashion historian isn't so bad. With both a wedding and a big promotion coming up, her own happily ever after seems assured. So how, in the space of one day, does it all go wrong? How does she end up homeless, jobless, penniless, and fiancé-less? Why is she cruising the Mediterranean in hot pursuit of real-estate tycoon Denis King? And why, for heaven's sake, is she chasing down a suitcase full of stolen Audrey Hepburn gowns?

With the sparkling Mediterranean and the eternal city of Rome as the backdrops, Holly's adventures begin to resemble one of the 1950s Hollywood gems she so adores. Finally she must choose between her long-held fairy tale fantasy and a new, real-life dream with an ending she couldn't possibly imagine.

Great story let down by mispronounciation

This was a funny and entertaining story and the narrator gave it great character but her pronounciation left a lot to be desired and was rather distracting. Once I heard one word pronounced incorrectly, I seemed to be drawn to listening for the other mistakes. Fracas, gnocchi, Hubert Givenchy, Trevi Fountain and Lacroix are all quite well known but were mangled by the narrator.

I LOVE this book!

This book has not the most unique story line because it's loosely based off "Sabrina" and other Audrey Hepburn movies mixed with "The Devil Wears Prada; however, it was so fun and entertaining!

The book visits many countries in Holly's travels. The words paint a beautiful picture of archeological sites, gorgeous beaches and some of the worlds most elite and impeccably dressed people!

If you like fashion, travel and a great love story, this is the book for you!

Sweet, enjoyable

Sweet book, enjoyable 'light' listen. Cant say I couldn't turn it off. Was a bit predictable.

A Cute Story and Easy Listen.

A cute story. An enjoyable read and an easy way to spend a few hours. The story was fun, the characters were a hoot (except for her father, who became a bit tiresome and frankly, should have been shoved out of the window of an airplane about 1/2 way through the book). Even the romance was sweet, funny and, as far as billionaires falling in love with people they meet on the street stories go, well done. Hard not to like.
