Publisher's summary

I waitress at MadDog - a biker bar - to pay my uncle’s rent at assisted living. I work my ass off but when I pour a pitcher of margaritas on a loser harassing my BFF - I’m fired. I scour want-ads until I find one that doesn’t make me want to hurl.

"Personal Assistant Wanted: 20s. Fab people skills. Celebrities don’t intimidate you. If actress - you can never use this on your resume."

Sounds dicey as hell. I apply immediately.

Lady Lizzie Billingsley - who if you get drunk and squint could be my impeccably polished twin - is entering into a marriage of convenience with playboy Prince Cristoph, the heir to the throne of Fredonia.

Lizzie doesn’t really want a PA...she's hiring me to impersonate her, keep Cristoph's wandering eye in check while she clears up a few loose ends. Did I mention the gig pays a fortune and includes a makeover?

What could possibly go wrong?

A realistic twist on a fairy tale!

What made the experience of listening to Part-Time Princess the most enjoyable?

The different voices Lesley performed really brought the characters to life, she did an excellent job with all of the accents!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Nick, he was so clever and funny...never gave up fighting for the girl he loves.

What about Lesley Ann Fogle’s performance did you like?

It was hard at first to get used to the voice of Lucy, but after you take into account the fact that she's supposed to have a strong accent and slang words, you find yourself embracing her as if she was a close friend.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the dog was being held hostage, I just wanted to get on a plane and go help Lucy! The writing and narration made you feel as though you're truly a part of the story.

Any additional comments?

Once you get started on this story, you're hooked! I found myself listening every chance I could, and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the author would throw me for a loop! Great read, and I can't wait for more in this series!

My Thoughts on Part-Time Princess

This story started off right in the thick of things, but then took us back to fill in the pieces. But once things progressed further, more twists, turns and layers were added.

I really liked Lucy with her down to earth personality. I liked that she had an actual interest in working out. She didn't need to be talked into it like many other female leads who basically need to be pushed or coerced into it. I like that the author made Lucy some one I might like to be friends with.

In all honesty, Nick wasn't as instantly likeable for me. He flirted with Lucy (as Lizzie) and saved plane passengers, and came to the rescue. But he also had moments were his intentions weren't great with regards to Lucy/Lizzie and also had me wondering why he didn't act sooner.

In the end I felt like I enjoyed the book, but wished the ending hadn't felt quite as abrupt. I would have liked more wooing to patch things up. But I hope there will be more to come and I might get to see more interaction with Nick and Lucy as Nick and Lucy with no more Lizzie complications.

The narrator was really good and gave very interesting and distinctive voices to each character.

Part-time Princess is a great entertainer

Would you listen to Part-Time Princess again? Why?

YES!!!

Pamela DuMond wrote a fun filled book and Lesley Ann Fogle's narration only added to the awesomeness of it all.

I was in the mood was a light read who was still engaging, intelligent , romantic ,satisfying and PtP was exactly that.

I wish more books like Part-time Princess were written.

Authors, please make Romantic Comedy the next best thing!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lucy.

I loved the fact Pamela DuMond didnt use the trope of her down on her luck heroine who sells her virginity/joins an escort service to make money.

Instead, Lucy gets hired by Elizabeth to impersonate her & keep the attention of Crown Prince Cristoph of Fredonia.

You will need to read the book to find out what happens next.

Hint: EVERYTHING that could go wrong, does indeed go wrong.

PtP being a Romantic comedy, Lucy of course ends up falling for Nick (the "wrong" prince who is also charming).

I wasnt sure about them at first, because Nick had a prior relationship with Elizabeth, but Pamela's writing, Lesley's narration an Lucy's antics left no room for deep thoughts. PtP just sweeps you along for the ride and you go with it.

What about Lesley Ann Fogle’s performance did you like?

Lesley brought Pamela's characters to life.

The comic parts were spot on, as well as Nick's and Cristoph's portrayal.

In no point did I have to wonder who is talking because the distinction between them was evident in the speech pattern.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I enjoyed the book immensly.

I was laughing all through it (even while on the train on the way to work).

Class and sass equal out to pizzazz!

If you could sum up Part-Time Princess in three words, what would they be?

Laugh out loud.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lucy is an imaginative and fiesty character. She's a scrapper. Not afraid of hard work, but despite her station in life, she never loses her sense of humor. I love this character.

What does Lesley Ann Fogle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ms. Foster had me loving the accent. She was a pro at it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

What appealed to me about Part time Princess is the nod to the fantasy of the fairytale.

Any additional comments?

Modern meets age old and delivers age old. Easy to love. Hard to forget.

Weirdest Part Time Job Add Ever!

If you could sum up Part-Time Princess in three words, what would they be?

Better Than Real

What was one of the most memorable moments of Part-Time Princess?

The proposal

Which character – as performed by Lesley Ann Fogle – was your favorite?

Lucy was my fave! She was so sweet and tried so hard to do what was right for everyone :)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the wedding! It was way too funny :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book. I can't wait.to listen to the next one!

Lucy is down on her luck. She has been struggling to take care of herself and her slightly mad uncle.since her parents died in a tragic motorcycle accident years ago. Her uncle never recovered from their loss. Working as a cocktail waitress doesn't exactly pay the bills and when she gets fired she is desperate to find a new job that pays well. Thanks job she found seems odd and too good to be true but if she wants to keep her uncle out of County she needs real money yesterday! How can she possibly pull off impersonating a Princess-In-Waiting? Will she fool the Crown Prince of Fredonia enough to make the switch with Lady Elizabeth at the proper time? Or will she bungle it all and lose her job and Elizabeth her crown?

Seeing Lizzie on the plane threw Nick for a loop. He wants things to go back to the way they were between them but she is playing dumb. He should leave her be. After all she is meant to wed the Crown Prince of Fredonia and save the country and the royal family! He is more and more drawn to her as time passes. Why does she seem so different than the last time he saw her? Can he forget her and do the right thing? Should he?

Christoph is ready to make this deal. His country needs the marriage contract fulfilled before they lose everything. Proposing on the tarmac to disastrous results only makes him more determined to get this done and over with. Lady Elizabeth, on the other hand, seems hesitant and very different. He finds himself.entranced by her. Will she say yes to his proposal? Will she consent to saving their country and someday becoming his Queen? How can this be the same girl who he has know his whole life?

***This romantic comedy of epic proportions is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy a good comedy of errors with plenty of mystery, intrigue, action, adventure, an eccentric royal family, and an assassin or two all leading to an unexpected HEA :)

Cute and full of fun

When you life falls apart and you hit rock bottom with others depending on you to take care of them what will you be willing to do to make that happen? Lucy had to ask herself that question she finds she does have limits as she crosses off one ad after another until one catches her eye, she applies and is given the job. It sounds so easy but as we know things never come easy for Lucy it is no different. She is pulled into a world wind of royalty, lies and deceit which add tons of humor that will make you laugh out loud along with a few OH MY’s. One man chases her, another wants to marry her but neither know she is impersonating Lady Elizabeth. One wants her for what she brings to the table the other wants her because he is attracted to her. Only one can win the hand of the lovely Lady Elizabeth or maybe neither. First Lucy must get through this mess for a week or two until Elizabeth comes home. One week adds to another and then another until you have one big mess that leads to a wedding you don’t want to miss.

The narrator does a good job at narration, at times she does seem child like. When Lucy is in character I would have thought she would have had the airs and tones of Elizbeth but when she is talking she has her own voice which was a little confusing at first. She does have great character voices, once I got past Lucy keeping her voice I always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. Her male voices were as nice as her female ones. Her tones and emotions were pretty good it didn’t take you long to start laughing as Lucy got into one mess and then another. The narrator really bought this to light giving a good listen. There are no background noises, no repeating of words and if any breaks were taken I could not tell. She did have me hook as she portrayed Lucy and her mixed emotions of being Elizabeth trying to be more like her but slipping up and being herself. All in all she made the listen enjoyable and kept me smiling and laughing.

The author gives you a delightful tale of mixed feelings, uneasiness as one women takes on a nation trying to be their princess. She fools so many but at the same time they know something is different. It isn’t easy to lie to so many you have come to love. I thought the author really put some time and thought into this story giving a compelling listen that holds your attention and keeps you laughing and at times on edge. There are a few heart stopping moments as danger comes near. The twists and turns are a delight but at times I thought it was a little long. She does keep the story interesting and at times your heartbreaks why at other times your throat is in your mouth waiting to see the outcome. First one prince pulls her in and then another. I did enjoy the mystery of Nick the handsome hunk who is a big flirt. I loved the scenes on the plan and in the park. I will tell you this one you will fall deeply in love with one man who wants Elizbeth and not so much with the other one. I really enjoyed the many different characters they add so much to the story. It was well worth your time and is totally enjoyable. The ending is heartbreaking and then the author twists it around making you smile big and loving every bit of it.
