The utmost delight in life is the realization that we are loved....
As a mail order bride, Hope finds herself married to an outlaw. She is left stranded on the Oregon Trail at about the same time as Daniel’s wife dies of cholera. The wagon train master strongly urges them to join forces and marry.
They plan to have the marriage of convenience annulled in Oregon, but a life and death situation reunites them before that happens.
Will Hope settle for less than Daniel’s whole heart? Can he let go of his grief and take a second chance at love?
Book Three of the Prairie Roses Collection, Hope finds herself in a bind and is forced to become a mail order bride.

It is well written, flows nicely from scene to scene, has a pair of really nice main characters who bravely face the hardships that life dishes up and do something with their lives that impact on their relationship and improve it.
This is the type of story that could rekindle hope and trust in one's life and that could possibly help a lot of people.
I enjoyed the narration by Jessica Caruso which was easy to listen to and I found it a pleasure to listen to.
My voluntary review above is unbiased and written after listening to an ARC copy of the audiobook.

Hope is also the name of one of the main characters in this story and she had a lifetime of struggles and hard times but she always remained hopeful. I really enjoyed this love story written by Barbara Goss and I highly recommend it. Also, Jessica Caruso does a great job with the narration.

Her husband is not who he says he is and she is not wanting to stay with him so she plans to get an annulment as soon as she gets to Oregon .
Daniel's wife passes away and he still needs to continue his journey to Oregon to see his father who is getting ready to pass even though he he is grieving the love of his life .
Hope 's husband is living a double life and his gangster friends pay him a visit but it's not a friendly visit and her husband is killed. Hope has a wagon with supplies and no one to help her so what does she do now .
The man head of the wagon train suggest the two get married and help each other, but Daniel is only willing to do it because he needs the help . It would be a strictly business arrangement and an annulment would happen as soon as they got to Oregon .
Daniel would provide for her, give her land , and build her a cottage .
That's the right thing to do because he never could love Hope the way he loved his deceased wife .
Daniel's father has his on plans .
I do not want to give away the sweet romance that has enough cowboy action to please anyone who likes westerns .
So go listen to the love story of Hope and Daniel today .
It has sweet romance , secrets , action / suspense , and a message about god .
This audio book is an audio book that the listener will not want to stop listening to .
It's an audio book that needs to be your audio book library .

Hope might be one of my favorite characters by Barbara Goss. The way she thinks about her first husband and the way she avoids him is pretty much on target. By the end of the book, I truly wanted Hope to find happiness after all she had gone through in her life.
Jessica Caruso did an excellent job narrating. I forgot I was listening to an audiobook, I just got so much into the story.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Hope’s marriage to an outlaw gives her some serious trust issues. She’s not a fan of the idea of another marriage of convenience, but if she’s going to get through the Oregon Train, she needs to stay with the wagon train…and that requires a husband.
Additional Comments:
- I’m surprised Hopes not super jaded, having grown up in an orphanage.
- Daniel’s relationship with his first wife isn’t given enough time to make the uber devotion to her seem real. But I think the books are too short for that kind of character development to truly take root. These are quick, clean reads.
- I liked Daniel’s father and the servant. Didn’t get to learn much about the servant and her husband, but they seemed like good, solid people.
- The dangers of the Oregon Trail are glossed over a bit.
- The relationship of Daniel and Hope is predictable but still satisfying. Hopes trust issues had a realistic origin.
- Her first husband could have used some more redeeming qualities. It would be a different kind of book if it took the more realistic stance on consummating the marriage, I guess.
Conclusion:
Quick, clean wholesome historical romance.
*I received a free copy from the author. I chose to leave this review. All thoughts are my own.
