Publisher's summary

Do you often lose your temper with your kids and feel unwell afterward? When your kids start acting up, do you wonder how other parents manage to keep their cool?

Do you feel like no matter what you do, it never seems good enough?

Your parents, your kid’s school teachers, and everybody else seem to have loads of opinions to share, but often provide very little solid support.

No one said parenting would be easy, but you didn’t expect it to be this tough. In addition to making sure your kids are well-fed, safe, and cared for, you also need to make sure they’re growing up to become well-adjusted, well-rounded, and responsible members of society.

There’s a lot of parenting advice out there, but aside from many of them contradicting each other, there’s also way too much information for anyone to make sense of.

As a busy, stressed-out parent, you just need practical answers on how to raise good kids.

Well, you don’t have to sift through and try tons of suggestions that may or may not work. This audiobook whittles it down to nine parenting strategies that have been shown to work in the real world.

In this easy-to-follow audiobook, you will discover:

  • Nine simple, practical steps that will revolutionize your relationship with your child and the quality of your family life.
  • The quickest way to address your own mental, emotional, and spiritual growth so that you don’t repeat the cycles of harm.
  • How a child’s brain develops from two to eight years old, so you know how to reach them at their level.
  • How children learn best, and how you can use play and teachable moments to your best advantage.
  • The best way to communicate with your child and make sure they understand what you’re saying.
  • What positive parenting is, the options available to you, with examples and instructions on how to use each one.
  • How to handle conflict with your kid so that you strengthen your relationship instead of destroying it.
  • Fun games you can set up to build relationships, teach essential lessons, and have a laugh, aimed at specific age groups.
  • How to help your child find meaning and motivate themselves to succeed in life, even when you are not around.
  • Special handling for kids who need extra care—from rebellious to hyperactive kids, and kids with special needs.
  • How to find your parenting tribe and get the real help and support you need.

And much more.

Each child is different, and what works for one won’t necessarily work for the other.

That said, there are foundational and universal approaches that have been proven to work, no matter who you’re dealing with. And that’s what we’ve included in this audiobook.

Your kids deserve to be given the best chance at succeeding in life. Provide them with all they need to become thriving adults.

Invaluable

Children are often doing things that can make us fly off the handle. This book helps you not to do that, by beginning at an essential place - integrating your own shadow. This is not the kind of parenting book that will only give you strategies; here, you also get challenged. You have to look at your beliefs and behaviors with the aim of getting yourself right first. Then, you also get to understand your child before you can get the strategies you need to parent well. Highly recommended!

An all-encompassing gem

How to raise good children started out sooo beautifully and right on point. Start with the root. The author starts off focusing on the parent, and recommending that they do the deep inner work to uncover their authentic self through shadow work. Soooo often we lash out because our child is throwing a tantrum, or isn’t listening, but is our frustration really about their behaviour? Or is it our own baggage that makes their bagged an added “burden”. I experienced the worst things I have ever experienced during pregnancy and into motherhood and it made me feel so guilty when my “stuff” and my new born’s stuff overlapped. This book was gentle and reminded me that I need taking care of too and acknowledge.

I also loved the section in the last chapter talking about support, and taking the support, and that it is often not spoken about the value of having emotional and physical support around us as we become new parents and journey through parenting. This book is a gem that I will reference whether in actuality or in thought when I am triggered as I parent and will help me to employ gentle techniques but also me compassionate to myself. Parenting is such a rewarding and magical journey. This book is a great companion to walk through it with.

Great guidebook for parents

I am a parent of two young children so listening to this audiobook has been a game-changer for me. It turned something I thought would be a complicated lifelong process into something more fun. The advice given throughout the book was very easy to understand and straightforward. The teachings in the book focus more on positive parenting and encourage rewarding good behavior over reprimanding children for bad behavior. It reminds us to praise our children when they do good which motivates them to do better. Overall, this book is a reminder of how parenting can be easier or less complicated and more rewarding than we think. I enjoyed listening to it and feel any parents can benefit from listening to it as well.

Definitely Listen to This Parents!

I am a father of 4, and lets just say being a good dad is the hardest thing I've ever done in life, period. There is an incredible amount of specific, actionable advice in here, but just the stuff on handling conflict better was worth the whole thing. Highly recommend you listen, moms and dads out there!
