Great book

A book like this could easily be dry and boring, but a combo of the personal writing style and narration makes this entertaining and enjoyable! As someone with a lifelong fear of forced social interactions, I found the tips provided in this book super helpful, especially the ones about how to increase confidence and silence the inner critic. We’re obsessed with telling ourselves stories about what we assume the other person is thinking and/or feeling. And we’re convinced these stories are absolutely true! The author tells a humorous story demonstrating how false this is. Other valuable tips: how to build up to public speaking and how to use small talk as a building block for relationships. It’s not just about passing the time. Bottom line: If you want to learn how to overcome awkward situations - or the FEAR of having an awkward situation - you need to check out this book.
