About this listen

All shifters are evil...so how can I crave one?

Shifter blood may run through my veins, but I’ve done everything I can to keep my human half in control. As a member of the human resistance I need to fight the evil inside me...and to stamp it out of the world. But when Mikel crosses my path he makes my senses go haywire and has me questioning everything I’ve ever known.

He’s the enemy, but I yearn for him. And with every deft touch and soft kiss I need to remind myself that shifters are master manipulators who will do anything to get their way. He calls me his mate, but I can’t give in.

Not when he kisses me. Not when he holds me. Not when he protects me from harm.

How can I trust a shifter alpha when I’ve spent my whole life fighting them?

Enchanting

This story captured my interest, and had me on the edge of my seat. I did not see the ending coming and that always makes a story even better. Liam Kingsley with Jenny Tia created a world that was unlike other stories in their genre. I found myself enjoying the banter, the growing bonds and the sensual moments between the two main characters.

The story is about two fated mates caught in the middle of a war between man and shifter but where the humans were losing and reduced to living in standards that are even less than impoverished.

The characters all had such wonderful dynamics with one another, the leaders of the shifters firm yet understanding and the main characters Michael and Eli tentative and loving. It was a lovely story of danger, family/pack values and a love stronger than anything. I couldn't put it down and found myself up into the wee hours of the night to finish it; anxious for more. It was great at foreshadowing to more, and has me excited for the next one.

The narration was very well done. Benjamin L Darcie gave the story life and fire, the different tones of his voice like exasperation and desire brought elements to the story that sucked me in and kept me engaged in the story. Especially in the more spicy scenes, I felt the hairs on my neck and the goose bumps prickle. It was like watching a movie in my mind.

There were times that he spoke a bit too fast and i had to go back and listen again, but it was minimal only twice.

Overall i quite enjoyed this and would listen again in the future, and will be on the look out for the next story!

Great story

Mikel is part of the Inner Guard of the Everglow Pack. Eli is the enemy/hybrid, he's been taught to hate shifters. But Eli is Mikel's fated mate. Needless to say things get out of control. This story is full of action and family dynamics. Really good story, but should be listened to in order. Benjamin L Darcie did a great job on the narration. Definitely enjoyed!

Fantastic!

Mikel and Eli are great characters with a lovestory filled with Suspense, heat, sweetness and pack. There is drama and action to add spice too. Hybrid Mate is the third book in the Everglow Pack by Jenny Tia and Liam Kingsley and although it technically can stand alone, I personally recommend reading the first two books first to get a better idea of the whole universe created in this series. I really enjoyed this story of Enem8es to fatedmates and cant wait to see what comes next.

Benjamin L Darcie narrates this story with 0passion and personalities shining through. Clear recording and fantastic voice work.

Wonderful book!

This is the first book I’ve ever read narrated by Mr Darcie so I enjoyed a lot hearing his nice, profesional voice bringing to life this amazing world of war, danger, discrimination, intolerance and fanaticism, and of course, Eli's and Mikel's journey to get together as fated mates, falling in love while learning how to accept themselves exactly the way they are. The story is somehow difficult to read but I loved especially how the plot is so intense and emotional. I strongly recommend to read this book as part of the series to fully understand the complexity of the story. The most interesting book so far!!

Wonderful performance and story

I am always a bit leery of prisoner romances as I can be hard to convince that the "love" doesn't smack of Stockholm Syndrome and that creeps me out. There was none of that vibe here. Eli is an incredibly strong character throughout the story and his feelings for Mikel develop in a way that is believable in this universe. The world building and major conflicts both between humans and shifters and within the pack continues to be very interesting with great twists and turns. Much os,the believability of Eli's changing perspectives and the love between the two MCs can be atteibuted to the performance of Benjamin L. Darcie. He brings every nuance of character development to life.

Push/pull shifter romance with light steam

It was a decent listen. I don’t regret and it wasn’t a time waster.

There were a few things that we iffy for me. It was stand-alone and it did but I can’t help but wonder if background in other book would’ve helped. And the lead in to the next book at the end always gets an eye roll from me. A little warning would be nice for us that have issues be unresolved in books.

Overall the push/pull went on a little long for me and I ten to like more steam. But it is a good story and good listen.

If you’re a shifter fan I’d recommend.

Fated Mates 💜

I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’m jumping right in the middle of a series but that did not matter much because the story still stood up on its own and is well written.

I am wary of mpregs because most of the time, it just doesn’t click with me. But this one, it’s more like alpha/omega enemies-to-lovers trope. The world building is very interesting, so is the conflict. It’s not a typical wolf pack defending their territory, alpha falls for an omega and they march into the sunset kinda story. This one is complex but easy to follow.

Here’s the thing though: I am not much of a big fan of Eli. 🙊 While I empathize the conflicting emotions of falling in love with an (supposed) enemy while also coming to terms that you’ve been fed with so much lies, it makes you question every single thing. But I honestly think there have been times in the book where I felt like he doesn’t deserve all the devotion, kindness and saintlike patience Michael gave him. Just when you think it’ll be all peachy, he falls back again based on some BS and Michael is once again left hanging. It felt cruel sometimes. But I’m still happy that Michael got his HEA.

This book has the drama, the pack bond, family dynamics, new friends and a salty alpha who wasn’t invited to sit with the cool kids, he went crazy and started a war. 😉

Benjamin Darcie is a new-to-me author but he didn’t great on this one. 🙊

Finding love and where you truly belong.

Hybrid Mate is book 3 in the Everglow Pack series. I love this series, and this action packed book with amazing characters is a wonderful addition. This is a continuous story series and should be enjoyed in order. I love Mikel and Eli together. Mikel, an alpha and member of the Inner Guard, and Eli, a hybrid prisoner, are fated mates. Mikel is very patient with Eli even though he's a prisoner and war is inevitable. Eli goes through a lot in this book and comes out stronger on the other side. He even makes a friend named Kyler.
I highly recommend this book and series and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Narrator Benjamin L. Darcie does a fabulous job in bringing these characters to life.

Interesting Continuation of the Series

Eli's evolution from prisoner to someone who could embrace every part of himself made for an engaging narrative. The tension of split loyalties was well executed. Cute relationship, loving family dynamics, and just enough of the previous couples to check in on how they are doing and the overall plot advanced nicely, intersted to see what comes next for the pack.
