Publisher's summary
Paragon is dying. Since their King sacrificed his life, the Peculiar’s have been waiting for a savior for centuries, but if he or she doesn’t show up soon, the magic of Paragon, and everyone within it, will cease to exist.
So when a demoralized kid and his two new mates, fresh out of New Jersey’s finest rehab…well, freshly escaped, anyway…show up to the town unannounced claiming to have no idea how they got there, there has to be a vital reason why…for only a Peculiar can enter Paragon, let alone even see it.
When “world-class f--kup” Benjamin Peter Green discovers his true potential, he denies it to the hilt. But, as epiphanies rise and responsibilities fall upon his back, he realizes it may be time to learn to deny himself, his past, and everything he thought he believed in, by saving a world he inherited before time itself, or die trying.
Hilariously witty, unhinged, and filled cover to cover with epic tales of modernity and twisted fantasy, I Prefer Peter tells the story of how a broken boy learns to fly, and ho he learns through peculiar adventures that dreams are just nightmares sprinkled in dust.

Story
I have few friends and fewer allies. What I do have on the island of Everland is a lot of people who want me gone. So when the Crocodile and Captain Hook reappear in my life, I am in no mood. And worse, they’re unknowingly endangering themselves by asking for me by a name I long considered dead. Now, not only do I have to save myself, I have to save the two men who I swore I would murder with my bare hands if I ever set eyes on them again considering they abandoned me.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

When dungeon doors all over the world closed and locked on the same day, people weren’t too concerned. Though arcstone, the material that powered most of the world’s devices, could only be found in the dungeon, they still had plenty on hand. The doors would open again, surely. Bryson only wants to surpass the legend of his dead father—a fairy tale hero whose name holds weight throughout the Light Realm. But after sixteen years of mediocrity, the world has given up on Mendac’s son.
Despite his failures, he is invited into a group of elite students known as the Jestivan and elected one of two captains with nothing to show for it but his last name. Requesting the respect of his peers is one thing; talk is cheap. As they are thrust into a millennium-long feud between two kingdoms, he must earn their respect by leading with composure.

I detest Fate. All vampires crave more than the rich taste of blood is their beloved, but I'm betrayed. I'm left hopeful and hopeless. Against all attempts, my heart has been poisoned against me. My belief is gone. A lie has been weaved for far too long and I fell into the web like so many others before me. I must ease the ache of time. No longer will I yearn for a fairytale. Story
Meanwhile, Gillan McArdle’s academic career is ending because of one stupid lapse of judgement. Offered a short-term contract, he lands on the Hebridean island of Harris to investigate obscure animal bones. Quickly dismissing the unicorn skull as a thinly disguised fake, he can’t deny there’s something unusual about these bones. Baited by rumors of a majestic tusked horse roaming the uplands, Gill begins to suspect someone is manipulating him. As he gradually unravels the mystery of the skull, he grasps a disturbing conclusion: If this creature does exist, the evidence suggests it’s a killer.

After an accident cut my life short, a realm keeper gave me a second chance: be resurrected as a realm guard in another world. Bold heroics and brave adventures? Occasionally; this is a peaceful realm, and outside of guard patrols I need to help protect the beautiful women in the local community. If I can keep the tavern across the street safe, clear the local mine of monsters, and track down the local potion master's missing assistant, things might just work out.

One of the best books I’ve read with an INCREDIBLE performance by the author!
I cannot wait for the second book! This was so incredibly enhanced by the author’s voices and performance reading this book I bought the author annotated version to see more about her thoughts while writing it. Amazing story like with enthralling backstory, but the story has clearly just begun. Definitely left on a cliff hanger (not in a bad way). I will be recommending this to everyone I know!

Great Retelling and Amazing narration!!
This is one of my favorite Peter Pan retellings with such great characters, dark humor that I truly enjoyed. Heavy topics so beware of triggers. And beautifully painful cliffhanger!! I can't wait for the next book. The narration is incredible and I love the characters so much. Highly recommend for those who love Peter Pan retellings.

The twists!
This is by far one of my favorite Peter Pan retelling! I just couldn't get enough and listened to it pretty fast! That ending is going to have me messed up until the next book! I also love how the Author reads all the parts herself which makes this experience more magical.

Outstanding performance of multiple point of views by one person
I’m so glad I did this audio. She did a fantastic job with all of the different voices all of the accents. She truly could have a writing career and a narration career. This is a very dark retelling of Peter Pan. Tinker Bell is a bad guy and I absolutely love that.

Read this!!
If you love Peter Pan, you’ll love this book. You will become overwhelmed by the story and its characters. You’ll find yourself feeling involved and apart of the events. I was enraptured by it all. I’ve never related to characters as much as I have in this book. No doubt you’ll become obsessed with Peter Pan retellings after this one. I certainly have.
I can’t wait for the next one! >~<

The Best Peter Pan retelling I have read!!!!!
Wow! I am so happy I stumbled across this author on TikTok. Beauty and the Beast has always been my absolute favorite Disney story but for whatever reason I just cannot get enough of Peter Pan retellings! This one has been my favorite so far! It is so far from the original but isn’t so far to be unlike able. Great job Mia I can’t wait for the next!!!

Faith, Trust and A little Paradust...
What didn't i like about the book?! Everything from the voices to the characters, I was hook, line and sunk into the book. Finneas is by far my favorite , he gives very much Fox Lost Boy vibes. Was not expecting the epilogue ending like Holy Smokes 😳 Evangeline is something else for what she done did 🫢🫣 Maya amuses the hell out of me and I hope she's okay in the next book 🙏🏻 Peter, Peter he got me wishing I could give him a hug though he may not like that 😅🤣😂. I cannot but will patiently wait for Son of Peter to come out. Thank you for such an amazing listening experience ❤️🩷💚
