Fabulously brilliant story & audiobook performance

I just don’t know what to say about this story. I have not been moved like this in a long time and I sincerely want to convey how clever the writing is.

The MCs are three really different men with different hang ups and issues and they are childhood friends who become lovers. And, they aren’t just three guys, one is gay, one is gay for you and the other is Demi and they are in a poly relationship and lord have mercy is this complicated and hot!

Argh! As if they can’t get any more amazing, they all wish on stars for each other. Gah! I love that this is sweet but not saccharine and can I say the audio performance just makes it even more outstanding? I have been living under a rock and I’m grateful to crawl out and find not just a new fave author, but a new narrator cuz hot damn! This book is perfect.

Really good Menage

4.25 Stars Overall!

I won't claim to be an expert, I've probably read/listened to a handful or so of menages, but I found this one to be quite original and the triad to be very equilibrated. Seb, Connor and Matt seemed to be in fairly equal footing in their relationship and I thought they had a lot of chemistry. The progression from lifelong friends into lovers was well-done, even if it did drag a bit in some parts. However, all of the guys were very likable and I did believe they had what it takes to make a menage-a-trois work in the long run.

The narration was really good. Piers Ryman did a great job giving each of the characters a very distinct voice. His tone was very pleasant and he delivered a very solid performance, giving the story with that extra bit of emotion where it was needed.

All in all, if you're a fan of MMM, you should definitely give this one a try. It was quite enjoyable!

Good vocal performance, not much too the story

For a story with a triad relationship, friends-to-lovers, sexual identity discovery, a 30-something virgin and parental issues, this one was low angst until the ‘twist’ at the end and was really pretty simple. Seb’s epiphany while camping felt a bit rushed but other than that the pacing of the story felt right for the characters and what they are experiencing.

I always like friends-to-lovers stories…the shared history and established love makes for a more solid relationship. The life-long friendship and bond these three share made the switch to lovers effortless. The trust necessary in such a relationship already exists so the exploration of the triad is a bit more natural for them.

I like all the characters equally…not one stands out over the others.

The vocal performance is very good. Each voice is distinct and the emotions he brought to the story made it more enjoyable than just reading the book. I’m glad I listened instead of reading.

Friends to Lovers

Its always funny when you read a book and give the characters voices and then listen to the audio and it is nothing alike. Different accents. Its great. Thats what happened to me with this book. This is a really realistic story with a well deserved HEA and the narration is fantastic. I really like Piers Ryman's voice. Highly recommend.

Good story

Good story, lovable characters. Tho the blurb could need an angst warning.
Absolutely love Piers Ryman and his English is so good. Very enjoyable.

Great read

I am so pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure what to expect as Colette is a new author for me, but I should not have been worried. I loved this friends to lovers story. Each character was well developed and rounded out the story.

I was a gifted this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this review.

I Wished For You.

Reviewer: Teresa Fallen Angel

Summary:
Seb just lost the man he thought would last a lifetime and his best friends Matt and Connor are determined to cheer him up. Now they have been best friends for years standing by each other when life seems determined to get them down. The guys take Seb on a camping trip where they all wish for what they want most. Now in a drunken moment Seb kisses both of them and in that instant things change forever. Can best friends change to something that none of them ever dreamed of?

This story was smoking hot as the guys work through how a relationship between them would work out. Seb is the only one who has been out as a gay man while Matt dated women and Connor never dated. Hidden desires were brought to life as they started a three way relationship.

Now there were numerous very hot moments between the guys, but where the story was lacking was character development. The summary if the story showed great promise, but in reality it fell a little bit short of its promise. They first half or more of the book evolved around building their new life as they explored their growing desire for each other. There wasn’t much outside interaction until late in the book bringing others reacting to they guys relationship. Delving into their lives outside of the bedroom would have enhanced the plot. Near the end, the reader was finally given more insight into the guys lives allowing the story to start to make the characters more to life.

At least we’re all in great company

I felt nervous, excited and even a little scared for the three men as they started their journey into a polyamorous relationship. I loved Seb and Connor, and absolutely adored Matt! I really hoped it would work out and that their friendship wouldn't be jeopardized.

This story has all the emotional feels especially towards the end. The last few chapters had me crying and praying things would work out.

This was a beautiful storyline that captured my heart and had me rooting for all three men. I was enamored the entire time as this story was heartfelt, sexy, emotional and all around wonderful.

Piers Ryman was absolutely amazing. I can’t imagine anyone else doing such a fantastic job. I mean the voices he used for all three men were perfect, and the emotions, oh the emotions he brought to life at all the right moments. I can’t wait to hear more from him.

Beautiful and well written story

This ménage MMM story with Seb, Matt, and Conner was so touching and real. The three of them are best friends who become lovers in a very believable way. The steamy parts are super hot, their buddy interactions are true to life, and their struggles are poignant.

The author is so amazing and the narration worked perfectly.

Highly recommend!

I enjoyed this one.

This is the second audiobook I've listened to by Piers Ryman. I think he did a really good job with this one. The voices he used are heavily accented but I'm not exactly sure which British accent it is. It's a bit different from what I'm used to but easy and pleasing to listen to once I got used to it.

This is the second book I've read by Colette Davison and I liked it a lot. I Wished for You is about three good friends who unexpectedly discover that they feel more than friendship for each other. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this one was very good.

Each of the MCs in the story has their own problem but they support each other and work well as a unit once they admit their feelings for each other. They have to deal with the usual coming out as a thruple things but they also have to deal with a separation of several months. Just when everything seems like it will be OK, tragedy strikes. It's a romance so I was pretty certain there would be an HEA and there was.

Overall this was an easy to listen to story, it kept my interest and I enjoyed it.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
